This video is great. Super informative and helpful. Watched entirely. I've had this PC for 4 years and I think it's time I finally addressed the infamous thermal pasting job these come with. I also think the battery has an issue because the PC dies at 30% Thank you for your dedication.

Hi Binh, my model ph317-52 looks similar. the inner fan has no cover so I will try figure which fan is making the noise. I received it second hand lots of screws missing.... here we go!

I am having a similar issue with the key getting stuck when it warms up. Did this get resolved for this customer. Can you do a video of replacing the keyboard in one of these

I don't own the laptops and I don't make videos just to make them. It would be like doing unnecessary surgery on someone, just for a video. Lol You can pay me to repair yours and I'll record the process if you'd like.

What thermal paste do you recommend for this laptop? Plus I have an issue where screen flashing purple greensih horizontal lines. Do you think it's because of heating?

I use ic diamond. I don't think thermal paste will help. Can you take a video and upload it to KZfaq?

Hi, When i am disassembling the laptop for cleaning, i accidentally end up by damaging the hard drive connector. now, i cannot turn on my computer. if i change the hdd to motheroard connector, does the laptop will work? or do i need to connect with the service team of acer? Also please tell me that is there any connection beetween hdd connector damage and laptop not turning on?

It usually runs hot because the heatsink sucks. Processor is on the opposite side of the fans and any attempt at gaming makes it reach high 80s/90°C quite quickly

At 11:10 that is actually a hall effect sensor which detects a neodymium magnet placed in the lid of the laptop to detect if the laptop is open or closed.

Hello, I have this. I was trying to see if I could add more storage to it. It seems like there is only one storage spot, and the person in this video has a 2tb drive. Some models have 2 slots, but that is not this one, correct?

Could you help me? I have this laptop, and I went through the process of disassembly, cleaning out dust from fans, and reapplying thermal paste as well as changing thermal pads for some better quality ones. After putting it all back together, the fans just don’t move at all. I set the fan speed to max in Predator Sense, yet still they remain at 0 rpm. At first I hoped it was simply the fan plugs, which I realized afterwards I had plugged in upside down (white dot is supposed to be face up). However even after rectifying this, the fans remain unresponsive. Is there anything more I can do? What possible solutions are there for this problem?

@@ItsBinhRepaired Hey it's been a long time. I just landed back on this video somehow, so I'll let you know my laptop was fine. Motherboard was unharmed thankfully, it was just the fans that got busted. A replacement pair worked fine.

Dude I gave mine a basic clean a couple of days ago and now my wifi adapter isn't working! It won't even show up in the shortcut! troubleshooting it revealed that "This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful." is it possible I screwed something up? or is it just driver-related? Still a great video though btw.

Possible the wifi module was damaged. Try removing it and reseating it.

@@CryptoParkYT there's no such thing. Just create the windows usb installer from Microsoft and get the drivers from the manufacturer's website

Damn dude it was painful to watch you scrape that thermal paste off. Just wipe it off with the paper towel then use some isopropyl alcohol to clean it up lmao
