Hi Becky. In some places there is an egg shortage. Two small grocery store in my area were completely out of eggs. I just donated 6 dozen to the food pantry in town to help out. FYI: PYREX is not the same as pyrex. Products with the name 'pyrex' (all lowercase) are made by a company called World Kitchen and are made out of clear tempered high-thermal-expansion soda-lime glass, which has a lower thermal shock resistance, making them susceptible to explosions in the microwave or oven. You can identify them by the lower case logo. Products with the name PYREX (all uppercase) are made of clear, low-thermal-expansion borosilicate glass and are not susceptible to explosions in the microwave or oven. They can be identified by the logo which is in all upper case letters.

As long as the tree looks realistic (mine does) the pre-lit fake tree is the way I go. It is SO much easier and it is so beautiful. No watering and the tree gets to stay in the ground doing the work it needs to do. :) I do miss the smell of a real tree sometimes. The white bowls are amazing for salads. For people who may not know if you look at the price tags at Costco and they have * on them that means the product is not being restocked anytime soon. So if you like it buy it.

Boursin is something we use a lot for cooking in France. You can add it like this: - add it to scrambled eggs - As an appetizer by rolling a slice of ham and stuffing it with the cheese - same as above but with beet this time (my favorite) - stuffing chicken breast - add to your quiche batter - mixed with beets and served as a sauce with gnocchi These are a few boursin recipes that are common on France.

Becky, one cup is one cup is one cup. Part of the difference is convenience of measuring. In order to have one cup of liquid, you have to pour to the brim of a dry cup, making it more likely to spill the liquid as you move the cup to the bowl. The other difference is accuracy. If you measure dry ingredients in a spouted liquid measuring cup, you can't level them off, making it easier to overmeasure a cup of flour/sugar/whatever. This probably doesn't matter in something like bread, where you add flour gradually and work by feel of the dough, but it will matter in cakes, which depend more on chemistry to have a good bake so your ingredients need to be accurate, which is why some people prefer to measure by weight instead of volume. If you're having good results, definitely don't stress over it. I use my dry cups for everything, I'm just careful when I transfer liquids.
@michaelk3797
@michaelk3797 Жыл бұрын
Actually you have to use the different measuring cups. A dry measuring cup is designed to level off the top of dry ingredients. With liquid ingredients there is a meniscus(due to surface tension) which requires you to measure to the bottom of the meniscus rather than the top.

I later got further education from his new hygienist about how useless Glide is and the benefits of using Cocofloss (she’s actually the person who told my Dentist about it 😀). Ever since I started using it my exams became more hopeful and although I still have some pockets they have significantly improved. I’ll never use another brand - the extra $$ is well worth it to me. Pro-tip for the gingerbread, roll the dough 1/4", and prebake the sheet for 5 minutes before cutting out your pieces. We made hundreds at the bakery I retired from and pre-baking will stop the shape from changing as it finishes baking and gives you clean lines.. Use a sharp knife to make your cuts, long lines can be made with a sharp bench scraper too. Royal icing is what you will need to hold the pieces together, it is made with powdered egg whites which would be easy for you to make with the freeze dryer and your own egg whites to make a stiff enough "glue".

The fresh produce from the grocery store is not nutritionally bad. It's really important to not accidentally shame people out of buying what they can afford. Your words are so powerful, and so on this case I wanted to provide my concern. I'm a registered dietitian with a BS and MS in nutrition. I really recommend buying frozen if you're super concerned about the date of picking vs date of purchase. The nutritional value in fresh and frozen produce is too similar to worry about the date of picking. I do agree with you on growing what you can and buying local. But remember that a lot of people can't grow it. We don't want them feeling guilty for buying the squash picked 1 month ago with insignificant vitamin and mineral losses compared to home grown squash. I love your content! This is just the second time you've mentioned this concern, and I want to reassure everyone that it's not a big deal.

Becky, hang your old white bath towels up outside to dry on laundry day! The sun naturally bleaches and sanitizes fabric. It’s why moms have been air-drying cloth diapers and bedding for decades. Nothing brightens whites like sunshine. You may have to hang the towels outside a few times on each side if they’ve gone really grey (chemical bleach tends to turn whites very grey over time), but after a few wash and hangout cycles, they should be noticeably brighter and whiter.

So fun, Becky! I love those black napkins with the wicker mats. I normally don't like gingerbread, but I LOVE my sister's gingerbread. She always comes to make cookies with my children around Christmas, and Christmas just isn't Christmas without her gingerbread cookies. She used to own a bakery in our hometown and could hardly keep them in stock. She graciously let me share her recipe on my channel last Christmas if you are interested in seeing it. The recipe is in the description of that video. ❤

@@amyjohnson7729 yes, you can freeze them raw. There are some really great Korean channels here on KZfaq that share preparing and freezing vegetables. Do a quick freeze for like an hour, then separate them so they don't stick together, package back up an toss in the freezer. If you have enough room, you can place them on a cookie sheet spread out and freeze, then package up.

I have a love/hate relationship with Costco. They get me addicted to something, then discontinue it. This happens to me constantly there😂 I’m in Louisville, KY and was at Costco yesterday, and that bag of squash costed me $7.57. I agree! It was devastating for me to have to start buying produce again, versus growing my own. I already miss my garden and so does my bank account😂

We use the Glow wick candles for SO MUCH! I can't handle candles burning (asthma), so we opted for these and my husband has them on our mantle that turn on at dusk every evening for sweetness :) Then we have a bunch in the fireplace for a glow when we don't want a fire. Those are all mix-matched and create a really comfy glow even in the summer without the heat. I also keep one next to my bed for ambience when I"m reading, etc.

I switched to all white dishes and serving dishes about 10 years ago and I highly recommended it. They go with absolutely everything. I have also switched to all white towels, except for a couple of hand towels for decor. It’s nice to be able to bleach them. Great video, Becky. I love shopping with you!🍁🍂

You can always use your wine glasses, (while you are no wine) for juice or sparkling water. I worked nights in hospital pharmacy for 40 years so could never drink alcohol while dining before work. Using the wine glasses made it feel like I could join in the festivities even if I was drinking sparkling juices. Wine just is better in wine glasses.

Love the coat you picked out! I'm a fake tree person now, didn't like them when they first came out, but now they look so much better, and because I live in an apartment complex, they only allow fake trees,insurance reasons. I do a lot of crafting and your idea of using neutral table scapes can be very beautiful, fall scape would have to include a pumpkin, some squash, in a burlap linedwicker basket filled with colorful leaves, and sunflowers! 🌻 Then when the next season comes, reuse the basket and fill with pine branches, pinecones, red berries, poinsettias, a ribbon bow. 🎀 By changing the decor in the basket your ready for the next season/holiday. Use stuff from your garden and nature when you can. Can't wait for all the holiday cooking and baking coming up. Don't overdo it though. Make sure you take care of yourself and baby...might get a bit harder to do in your last trimester. You look wonderful!
