@Tusc9969
@Tusc9969 4 жыл бұрын
@@kahyangni6808 Art is something you can ever master like sports. You’re always learning and you’re always growing, and even when you think you’re at the top of your game, there’s always something else that you can do, learn, create. Everyone who experiences art - be it a reader, an audience member, or a listener - will have an opinion of your work. Many can be quite cutting with their words, rarely appreciating the hours and years of learning and crafting. Even then, your job as a creative is to be your worse critic and your number one fan. Most days the critic wins. There is less anonymity in art, even if you use a false name, you're still 'out there'. Many artists are introverts. They sacrifice their great need for privacy in order to do what they do. There's very little room to hide, and this is why many famous people struggle--there's the work and then there's the other 'stuff' they'd rather not deal with but have to anyway. A psychological study has linked creativity with depression and other mental illnesses. Though it's often hard to nail down the 'nature vs nurture' aspect of this, a creative's ability to introspect and also observe the world adds to this tendency toward melancholy. Sometimes the world really sucks, and you as a dreamer and over-thinker wishes it didn't.

Everyone notes on his listening skills. But the thing that impresses me the most about Adam Driver is his speaking. His delivery is at such a constant pace, with very little pauses that show him processing the rest of his thought. They just stream together like flowing water. That in and of itself isn't the impressive part. He is very talented in viewing what he is saying, as he is saying it, from and empathic point of view. So he can recognize when he says something that feels slightly ambiguous, in its interpretation. And so in the pursuit of being purely understood from a communication standpoint. He pauses only to "couch" the possible ambiguity, and then continues his flowing stream of thought. That is the mind and spirit of a man that is centered and open.

Just finished watching Patterson the other day. One of the most unique and quaint films I’ve ever seen. It’s unremarkably remarkable in a strange way. It almost doesn’t work, and wouldn’t have had it not been for Adam Driver’s performance. It made me realize how much of a powerhouse of an actor he truly is. Yea he’s great in the huge, over the top blockbusters, and huge budget films like Star Wars... but when you strip all of it away. Reduce a film to literally just based on the simple performance and interaction between characters. Driver EXCELS in this arena as well. He doesn’t so much “carry” the film...he IS the film. Talent of this level and screen presence of this magnitude doesn’t come very often. He is this generations greatest actor. By far. He would almost be the greatest actor of any era. I see nothing but successful role after successful role for the guy from here on. He is still very young and has only really been in film for a little more than a decade, and really became a household name only about 5 years ago. He is and will become one of the biggest actors of all time. A true legend of film in the making.

Being a muscular marine you would think Adam would play action roles. But he is so good at being a neurotic intellectual type... Let's combine the two and have him be a nervous commando. I love this between them. She's talking about herself and Adam just patiently listens. Adam is like the therapist and Charlize Theron is the patient of course. Remy Azhary Yosef I agree. He is very intense and unwavering in his responses. Both in listening when she replies to his questions as well as answering hers. He does not appear to worry about being a yes man or trying to make the other person feel comfortable necessarily. He’s very poker faced, doesn’t give away many clues with his physicality at all. I think less confident individuals would be intimidated with or by him. Seems to have a solid sense of who he is and doesn’t really give a crap about people feeling warm and fuzzy about him.

I love that Adam wasn't all that interested in how long the application took in the makeup chair but rather on "figuring out what was too much". The creative process can be so all-engrossing that one might lose focus on the bigger picture or lose the plot. It's such an interesting question. I also really liked how Charlize talked about women as unique individuals and not some singular hive mind in their shared experience of the same environment or event. "We don't always do good things for the right reasons." Such a good quote. Charlize's transformation into Megyn Kelly is one of the best I've seen. She really nailed the voice in particular. So cool that Bombshell had the same prosthetics artist as Gary Oldman in Darkest Hour, Kazuhiro Tsuji. He also worked with Nicole Kidman on Hemingway & Gellhorn.
