A full Let's Play RimWorld Ideology 1.3 playthrough with the Transhumanist meme. This is played on the hardest difficulty, Losing is Fun, bumped up to 500%, against Cassandra, and not using pause or mods (aside from the mod that makes it so I can't pause etc).

This playthrough was recorded LIVE on Twitch. As such, Adam is speaking with chat throughout. Videos without chat will be listed as 'KZfaq Exclusive'. This is the ENTIRE playthrough, so there will be some episodes in which not much happens, that's just the nature of unedited RimWorld.
*No Pause - Adam is using a mod that disables pause in every portion of the game. This means it is impossible for him to pause with a key press and the game will not pause during events or trade, making things much more difficult.
** Losing is Fun set to +500% is the hardest difficulty in unmodded RimWorld
***Cassandra Classic is the most consistently difficult storyteller, but is more predictable than Randy Random and cannot be as hard as him if you get bad Randy RNG.
**** Lost Tribe is a scenario in which you begin with 5 tribals, some supplies, and 3 random pets. This scenario has very slow research by default.

re: good/bad traits Yeah, gourmand is a "sleeper" bad trait. Seems like it's OK if you have enough food, but it can really screw you. In addition to the mood hits they get their mental break seems to happen more often than pyros and it's harder to deal with. I had one who was my doc and would get the break at the worst possible times. Transhumanist is super powerful, especially on a brawler.

dam, i had my psychically deaf leader set up as a pycaster, i wondered why he lost his casting skills when i took off his eltex shirt, i had to do the operation on him to make him only 75% psychically deaf lol.. lesson learned

Just to give some input on the pizza discussion. Someone mentioned Chicken, Bacon, Pineapple which is indeed a great pizza but add some jalapenos and its a perfect pizza.

Ancients with low-shield packs I think that's the first time I've seen a low-shield pack not get activated the first time an npc is hit. I wonder if that' because they're neutral?

re: berserking You're not using mods this run, but if you do in the future "Ground Targeter" would be a good one to get. You can shift-click to target the ground with psycasts even when there's a pawn in the space. Very helpful for grenades, too, because in vanilla if a grenadier is targeting the ground and then a corpse on that space, once the corpse is destroyed they'll go into "target random enemy" mode, inevitably lobbing grenades at the enemy standing directly in front of them.

Would waterskipping on top of your melee pawns help with blinding opponents?

I've never tested if the pawns can kick water from a skip into opponents eyes (like they can with normal map water/mud/sand). Interesting idea, may have to see if the itneraction works sometime!

In terms of what the game wants to encourage transhumanist was a better fit tha body modder. Body modding also refers to piercings, tattoos, surgical alterations and implants that change only aethetics. Transhumanist on the other hand specifically refers to tech implants that replace or upgrade body parts.

Yeah. It is odd they chose to rename transhumanist trait so that it wasn't the same as the ideology but left cannibal/cannibal as is. Not sure what they would have changed the trait name to, though. "Human Flesh Enjoyer', lol

@@AdamVsEverything Now that you mention it, I see what they may have wanted to do. If you have both a trait and an ideology called the same it might confuse people but the body modder still doesn't fit. Maybe biohacker would have been a better alternative.

It is insane cheating but I have started alternating turning off mechs and/or deleting breech raids if they happen twice in a row. It's actually dumb and kind of lazy

Food is not important. There is not ever a reason to ever use any food type except nutrient paste meals. You should always be able to feed you're pawns with nutrient paste

Transhumanist meme doesn't get a mood debuff from paste. Paste has many benefits as well. It is very nutrient/ingredient efficient, it can't give you food poisoning, and it (in a round about way) makes it so pawns don't eat without a table (as long as one is in range of the dispenser).
