Thank you for sharing your stories. I'm battling with drug addiction at the moment. I still have a chance and a choice to do the right thing today but I know my luck will eventually run out If I do not stop. This is a clear reminder that addiction will eventually take your life and most of us who suffer from addiction never want to die from an overdose or a bad decision. This gives me hope and strength to realise that I still have a chance to break free while I am still breathing. God bless your families and friends who are suffering. I can't but we can 🙏

Yes this disease affects all ages,races, everyone. I go to a treatment center and it’s so eye opening to see someone as young as 18- 80 years old going there it affects every walk of life. Thank you for sharing all of your stories so sorry that it ended this way for your loved ones.

Yes addiction is a disease all 3 of my daughters and myself and other family are currently in active addiction

My only daughter died from fentanyl. I am brokenhearted. New Jersey is a real hotspot for opioid abuse.

This drug does does not discriminate it is grasping it's hold on everyone from all walks of life trust me I know first hand it started out with pain pills for me and progressed I lost a cousin in 1989 his mom found him on Thanksgiving day once this drug gets its grip on you it never stops calling especially when your in deep emotional pain and you have no family support my heart and sympathy goes out to each and everyone of you!u did the best you could

People need to fight with the government so they could make a law where they make a person be obligated to go to rehab and get all the help they need because a person who has a substance abuse is mentally and paired to make the right choices and they’re not going to make the right choice of going by themselves until it’s too late to rehab

So I have a question: For anyone who started with weed and progressed to pain pills and or stronger drugs what do you think separated you or others from the ones who smoke for leisure? Like pro pot users will say weed isn’t a gateway but for you or someone you know it was so what do you say ? What do I need to do as far as helping to make sure nobody starts with weed and ends up leading to a dark dark road ? I don’t smoke it really .. I’m more of a social smoker but I really want to know how I can help fight this epidemic

I lost my boyfriend who was the love of my life about a month ago from an OD on heroine laced with fentanyl. I wast too educated on addiction or how it really is a disease and I blame myself that I didn’t do more for him. I’m devastated and will miss him forever
