I traveled back to Dayton, Ohio to interview William Stevens at Good Shepard Ministries. William is a military veteran who has experienced difficulty at home, in a relationship, and so much more. Thank you Shawn Trapp from Good Shepard Ministries for setting this up! www.thegsm.net/

William I'm blown away by your courage to share your story especially after all the broken trust and hurt you've had to endure. I can see your pain and the way you suppress upwelling feelings and can only hope that you're still taking care of yourself. Especially through the help of a therapist. It takes years to unwrap and understand all the things you had to go through and that you're a worthy and important person just the way you are. You're not a failure! Life handed you a bad hand of cards and you're very strong to get to the point you're right now. Wish you all the best. Thank you for sharing

Thank you for sharing your story. I’ve been watching these videos every night and they’ve been something I can really lean on when I can’t get into a meeting or if I don’t want to bother anyone at night.

William you deserve a happy life .Change is always hard no matter how bad it is we grow to feel comfortable in our environment that we are conditioned to . So yes you have to condition yourself to new and different but better .Connection is everything .Im so happy for you to find the people place and things that let you be and feel the wonderful person you are .

I've watched just about all of the addiction series and William's story touched me the most. He's suffered every imaginable kind of abuse and heartbreak and has come out on the other side a recovered, humble and beautiful person. Congratulations William, you're a hero.

WOW!! I’ve heard, seen and lived SO many stories all of which are touching in many ways, but by far only your testimony has truly touched me to my soul as someone else said. I don’t know if it’s because I see so much of my sons in you (in different ways) or if it’s just your sincere, genuine, heart felt articulation of ur feelings thru your journey good and bad. You’re a handsome intelligent young man. U deserve love, & hugs, and always have!!! You’re SO worthy of all the things you’d hope for in life so keep going and don’t let the devil in. Command him out of your life, and ask God to come into your life, your heart, your soul, your spirit, your mind and let HIM guide u to the path of righteousness. I am so sorry for the trials and tribulations you have endured I have experienced some of them 1st hand, BUT I see how strong those experiences have made u and that’s the strength of the Lord working in you. William I truly hope and pray that you continue on your path to recovery and never let the devil back into your life. You’re worthy, you’re deserving, and you’re going to continue to see the blessings and love pour into your life as you continue your journey of healing, growth, and recovery thru God.
