For what it’s worth, your sweater is a work of art, and looks great on you!

I’m recovering from a week of sickness and am enjoying playing catch up on your videos. I’m really keen to hear how your test knit experience went - I think it’s now about 8 weeks or so since you posted this video. The colourwork in your sweater is gorgeous. I feel ya re body stuff - self image is so layered and complex…. I see you xo Thanks for keeping me company this morning. I went back to your Moonsisters shawl post, and have just watched your most recent post where you are wearing the shawl while camping, and you’ve inspired me to purchase the pattern. I have no idea if I have enough yarn in my stash but I’m going to start it asap. It’s wintery here in Aus so it feels right to be knitting. I’m feeling a little heartbroken cos one of my dogs stole my current in-progress socks and chewed the needles and the yarn. I’ve bundled it all up to deal with another time. The dog still lives…. Just. Anyway. Thank you as always for your sharing. I love visiting your channel and catching up on your happenings ☺️ Samm in Australia.

Hi Alicia, Older fellow knitter here🧶🧣. Fountain pen enthusiast! Your sweater looks great on you, you are young and beautiful in every way! Yoke sweaters have different shapes and attributes😃 to each pattern👍 Look at other people wearing yoke sweaters in Ravelry and you will notice there are many different looks, styles and fits! Do not let vanity prevent you from enjoying the beautiful artwork you knit😃👍 A knitted sweater is really a piece of fiber artwork! Enjoy your sweaters for themselves and your wonderful accomplishment of knitting a beautiful example of fiber art👍😃❤️ I mention this only with love💕 An elastic thread could be sewn through the lower ribbing of your sweater to gather it in a bit too. Also your beret with bobbles, you could rip back, possibly make the hat itself longer or wider in circumference or knit the ribbing longer in length or wider in circumference to make the hat fit more to your liking! Patterns are only a recipe and not written in stone😃. The previous sweaters you knit that you do not wear, you could frog them and reknit them or creat something else with the beautiful yarns😃. Yarn is too precious to let lie in a drawer in an unused item! That’s the great thing about knitting, there is always another pattern or use for that same yarn😃👍🧶. There may be something else very special waiting to be knit with the yarn🧶. Have fun 🎉.

I first learned to knit about 6 or 7 years ago but I’ve only really picked it up and really fallen in love with it in the last 4 months. I was feeling discouraged about some of the things I’ve knit and having to frog and start over but I heard a story that some cultures believe if a hand made object is too perfect then the persons soul would be trapped in the work so a mistake is intentionally left to release the soul from an object when they are done. It made me totally rethink any mistakes I’ve made in my knitting and i reframed my thinking around “messing something up” and having to restart and I just treat it like a swatch or practice test so I don’t feel like my work was for nothing 😅 I think it’s allowed me to continue with learning knitting instead of giving up and getting frustrated like it did when I first learned. I’m really enjoying your knitting updates and they’re really inspiring for me (I just finished the halibut cowl inspired by your halibut sweater!). Thanks for sharing even if you’re unhappy with how your knits come out because I think they’re beautiful!

Amish quilters often leave a "mistake " in their stitches too because no one is perfect but the lord. I like both ideas 😂😂

I looooove that sweater and think it looks amazing on you! I’ve had the pattern in my favorites for a while but I haven’t felt confident enough to tackle it yet

The Halibut sweater is beautiful - great colours, fun pattern. I'm sorry to hear you struggling a bit to embrace it for yourself but GOSH DARN IT, it looks wonderful. :) And, can concur, short rows on the back of a sweater is such a cool technique. The results make for great shaping. Cheers, and hope you feel better soon.

Hi. I love the sweater - it is gorgeous. You might want to stop blocking sweaters if you feel that the final size is larger than you anticipated. I find that blocking does stretch a sweater by at least one size.

You might find the green hat feels right as spring starts? Sometimes you need the light to change before bright colours feel right

I can relate. I love to knit but I haven't made a sweater because they look awful on me. It's sad but true. lol. I stick to little things. Maybe someday I'll fix that. 😂

The sweater is beautiful and looks fab on you! I know what you mean about knitting a garment and feeling like it doesn't flatter you though.

Hope you feel better soon. They all came out so great. Have you seen the cozy socks pattern from Churchmouse Yarns? They look so comfy & nice.

What an interesting video! I've never understood body hang-ups or felt the need to compare myself to others. I do find it a little bit ironic that you should mention body issues. Given that during one of your pen videos [I've just bought a Namiki Emperor - love it and a Conklin Mark Twain Crescent demo, cool and fun] I considered making a cheeky comment on your, frankly, impossibly perfect skin. I was going to ask what you offered the Devil in return and at which crossroads - compliment and comedy. It's interesting that the first time I saw you I had to wait to catch my breath before saying wow and here you are questioning body image. Perspective, eh?
