Only bought the Phenom a couple of days ago. Watching lots of videos to help with the steep learning curve. Unfortunately, a lot of them were marginally helpful at best. I had nearly given up when I decided to try one more, and I will say that I hit the jackpot with your video. Tons of great information and tips with no misinformation. Thanks for a great video. Bookmarked so I can rewatch as necessary, and subscribing in the hopes that you keep 'em coming!!! Thanks again...

I learned the other day that it's not necessary to manually deploy the spoilers when landing. The process is automatic and the switch can be left in the Close position.

Very informative video, thank you. What plugin are you using that audibly announces runways? "Approaching Runway 16 Left 8900 feet remaining" I've heard this on other videos and would like to use it.

Do you know if there's any way to get the touchdown callouts on below 100 RA without a separate plug-in? ("fifty forty thirty twenty ten") . I just picked up XP12 and havent gone down the plug in rabbit hole too far yet.

Genuinely nice and good video for the Phenom, but for Take-Off table you need to choose 1. flaps 2. Alt 3. Temp 4. on same row of the Temp., you find closest min RWY length below to your TORA & (V1/VR/V2) then you will get the 5. MTOW (from the weight above - on same column of the TORA), if the MTOW > your TOW weight then you are good to go, if not then you need to adjust your weight. 6. on the same column you will get the Vfs So, the line above on the table is the max Takeoff weight not your weight TOW.
@alukis8791
@alukis8791 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. The method you’re describing is what I would do if runway length is a concern. Since we have plenty of runway our only limiting factor is weight. With us being under MTOW of 8340. We can use our actual values to determine V1/VR/V2. Then I round up for safety.

Hi there, I have a question about the VNAV guidance. What do I do if my flight plan's terminal waypoint is only a few miles from the first approach fix? In other words, how do I know my TOD if I can't direct to the first approach fix as I am instructed to fly a series of FPL waypoints situated only a few miles before the approach sequence...? For example, if I am flying into KTEB, my flight plan is GIVES DCT DJB DCT JHW DCT STW and the first approach fix is STRAD (for the ILS19 approach) . The problem is, STW is only a few miles from STRAD, so I will only be able to view the TOD calculation after crossing STW and flying direct to STRAD... By that point I will be way too high. Do I need to input an expected altitude for STW?

For that approach from that direction you can use the STAR “LVZ4” which will give you step downs. Otherwise plan your decent using the rule of 3. Which is 3 miles for every thousand feet you need to descend.
@HowDUOdo
@HowDUOdo 2 жыл бұрын
@@alukis8791 thanks, will use that rule in case no descent profile is available. 👍

still could not figure out what is the sense behind setting the V-speeds in min 58:05. how does this affect the aircraft during approach? you set Vfs 121 and shows up in the PFD but never mentioned it again. the same at TO, why set V1 + Vr, what for? thank you!
@alukis8791
@alukis8791 2 жыл бұрын
You set the V-speeds so that they will show on the PFD. V1 speed marks the point where you are going to fast to safely reject a takeoff and therefor must continue and deal with any problems in the air. Vr is the speed at which you start to rotate the plane for takeoff, and V2 is the speed that you can safely get the best climb for clearing an obstacle. For landing you have a Vref (reference) which is the speed you target for final approach, and Vfs (final segment) which is the speed you would target for a single engine failure for a go around. You typically call out speeds that require a decision or action. In the case of 2 people flying a jet, you would call out V1 so that the other pilot would know we can no longer reject. Hope this helps.

@@alukis8791 once again, guess i just deleted my reply. thank you for your advice. ok on the v-speeds but what for do you move those sliders to that partucular speed which you do on the tablet? a piece of paper and just note down the speeds would do.... or not? am i something missing?

for the last approach, for me the APR function doesn't work, since the autopilot deactivate systematically and I cannot control the plane properly for the ILS final. We are far from the Aerobask's quality I used to know up to now!

I noticed just before Alukis hit the activate the approach button in "Proceedures" he changes back to the heading mode(Like a neutral gear)THEN hits the Activate Approach button. Give it a try!

Aside from a few minor things on mfd, aerobask has nothing to do with "procedures" logic of pfd. Laminar does this and devs are locked out.

You hit the Heading button just before hitting the Activate the Approach button in Procedures WHY?
@alukis8791
@alukis8791 Жыл бұрын
The reason I hit the heading button before activating the approach is because I was flying direct to the airport. When you activate the approach it’s going to turn you to the initial approach fix.

Just use VNAV man, why are you making the descent so difficult? If you're going to do a tutorial, learn the systems. VNAV will do everything except control thrust (that's up to you because there's no auto throttle)

I wasn't aware this plane had a working vnav. Just tested it, and you're right. I might put out a short video about it. Also the flight manual for this plane provided in the Docs only mention that its vnav capable, but doesn't talk about it. Thanks for the comment.

@@alukis8791 Apologies if I came across as harsh. The G1000 is the stock X1000 made by Laminar research and modified by Aerobask. As such, it has all the same functionality. There's a manual for the X1000 provided by LR and also some great videos by Phillip Ringler, who works at LR and designed the X1000
