What a pleasant coincidence, as I am currently in the process of starting a brokerage/import-export business in East Africa. My company was approved just last week. Keep up the amazing work, you are a true inspiration. -Your biggest fan from EAC

Congratulations on your new company, dear Anthony. This is fantastic. My advice to you if you are doing this for the first time: Start focusing on ESSENTIAL products that are needed during a recession and focus on trading within the EAC trade block until you get some traction in. Then you can expand. Wishing you all the very best!

@@dr.harnet466 Thank you for your reply. It is indeed my first time. My main focus right now is directed towards export, with my first commodity of choice being coffee. I am planning on adding more commodities in the future, but I need to take it one step at a time as you brilliantly said in your video, since different commodities bring different kind of problems to solve. My business competitive edge is my strong ties with one of the fastest growing coffee consumer market right now --CN. Hopefully you will get to hear from me and "Africa Konnect Limited" in the years to come as one of the major trading actor in the EAC.

You are the one and only in the horn, Dr Harnet/ጥበባዊት ሐርነት። When I was in Rwanda, I bought 10yards fabrica and took to the local..., they made for seventeen children and myself very beautiful dresses, when saw people buying old rigid...very disappointed! Eritrea doing better than the rest of Africa..., because they are practicing self-sufficient, the way we grew up, please understand me I am not supporting the leaders, I am expressing what I am observing...

Currently importing a design concept into the us from Kenya, which is at its grassroots in marketing development but has great potential. The mere fact that we are providing income to artisan groups of women is motivating us to the next level of our own warehouse. Your videos are top-notch and greatly appreciated ❤. Be well! I do believe if Africans seize this political and economic change this is going on around the world, the present and future of Africa is bright. Saudi Arabia is accepting Kenya currency for oil, while China and Saudi Arabia are trading with their local currencies. Africa needs no convince China to accept theirs currencies and that will be a game changer since most of our import come from China. EAC needs their unique currency as well as West Africa needs theirs. Thank you

I could relate to what you said.. But most African countries, if they are to compete at the international space, need to depend less on hard paper currency, and work with direct banking transfers, where money is exchanged electronically.. It's one of the things of modern banking that's of critical importance to sustain and boost business
@dr.harnet466
@dr.harnet466 Жыл бұрын
Good point, Wrik. Indeed, many smaller traders are 'underbanked'. But the bigger manufacturers and exporters all sell via international bank transfers / wire transfers.

@@dr.harnet466 perfect! This also means, the next financial revolution, the next step for entire Africa, from consumer to SMEs, need to get connected via online banking (esp. Instant money transfers, etc), so that trade picks up in general.. I would also recommend that you look at some of the developments in India's banking sector over the last 10-12 years, to know, where Africa could have it's next opportunity, and perhaps even suggest that to your audience..

The Mother Continent, in my opinion, Best to have Their own Hard Currency such as the Golden Dinar Initiated by the former Libyan Government led by Col. Khadaffi. His Demise will not be in vain!(Collective West on Notice), Aerospace, Automobiles, Food Stuffs, Technology. etc.. Mother Continent Should be Bread Basket of the World, no reason not to.

Hi Mahmud, great to hear! It may be a valuable business if you have a high-end market (so selling to the rich), as gems will not be high in demand during a global recession. I would also make sure you start in a 'low risk' country when dealing with minerals (as minerals are high risk in Africa), so for example: BOTSWANA is a good country to get this started.

@dr.harnet466
@dr.harnet466 Жыл бұрын
Dear Mina, one of the best business models I see for your expertise (without breaking the bank) is to start a business consisting of a group of nurses & care givers to attend the elderly and many sick people of any age...who are stuck at home. You need to focus on the upper class in Accra, as they have the spending power to pay you. Many are too old or chronically too sick to make it to the doctors regularly or to care of themselves. Family members are also burdened. This is a business model I have always been passionate about (especially now, after being housebound for close to a year myself due to illness) and there is a huge lack for such services in Africa and the world. Hope this helps. Let me know.
