AFX mode on the BS2 is CRAZY!!!

AFX mod? What is it? Basically the AFX mode allows the Bass Station 2 to assign a new patch per key, combine this with the insanely random nature and rhythmical qualities of the BS2's sequencer and woah I could have gone all day with this thing.
As per Aphex Twins music this mode allows for some absolutely crazy sounds and some lovely disjointed unusual stuff. Added some compression and reverb in the DAW but all the sound is from the BS2.
All recorded and edited using Cakewalk by Bandlab and Hit Film Express.

It's incredibly generous of them to basically give us a whole new synth pretty much as a free update on an existing synth!

Yeah and after so many years since it's release. I think a lot of the other synth and music gear companies could learn a lot from that.

so basically, the AFX station presets can be loaded into the BS2 for free? And the AFX station is basically the same synth except for the color?

Hey thanks for stopping by. As far as I can tell the AFX station is just a BS2 running the latest firmware and a colour swap. I may be wrong though. Certainly worth looking in to if you're in the market for one. There will be loads of BS2 units around pre lived and at a great price.

@@TheOceanBeneath yes, I might do just that :) Here it says "AFX Station Patches" and "send to "Bass Station 2" components.novationmusic.com/bass-station-ii/patches So the AFX version really seems to be just a limited edition case.
