This reminds me of a Traveller game I was in. Pirates were out of control in this sector, and I didn't want to lose my ship or any cargo. I made a deal for pirate hunting, they would reward me quietly for every pirate I destroyed (I was a very good deal maker and an even better pilot, I had connections all over the Imperium and beyond, as I had been a Noble top ranked Naval Officer before being encouraged to leave. I had connections almost everywhere though) So, facing the main airlock, behind a thin plastic wall, I placed an auto cannon set to fire through and out the airlock to take care of any boarders in heavy or Combat Armor and to put a few holes in the pirate ship as well. (The first rounds were for unarmored or lightly armored, followed by AP, no explosives as it was point blank and would have hurt us too. In the cargo bay I placed some heavy weapons aimed to fire out of the cargo hatch, mostly a few heavy auto cannons, and a few recoilless Weapons (Didn't use Energy weapons in case the Pirates detected the energy build up or if the ships engine was damaged, don't mean I didn't have them ready though, a plasma cannon fired into a pirates cargo hold, at point blank range, would really ruin their day or week. We would roll ship to present the cargo hold for looting, and when the pirate ship was nicely framed we would let fire into the interior where the Prates would be just starting to come across to board us, if lightly armored vac suits or so, we would hold the Rifles and just use the AC, and usually have a fresh new ship to sell, or turn in for a reward This was around the Black Box Traveller set period with the addons

Anyone else thought the duo was kind of similar to the one from "I'm sorry" storry?
