How long was the lead time when you ordered it John? Have you received any communication as to the progress of your bird? I’m curious as I have had a kit on order since Osh 23. I was told then that the lead time was four months, final payment a few weeks before shipping. Aerosport has been paid in full now since Christmas but still no kit and no idea what stage it may be in if any. I’m trying to have a good feeling about the prospects of receiving said kit, but it’s tough at the moment. Best of luck to you and the others like us in the same boat of wonder.

Oh you mean about the rocket assist? Just for the record-the video would be inadmissible in court because it can be shown to have been “edited”. Tom, nice setup. Was not familiar with Kanardia. In navigation can you set a multiple point route along the way or is it all "direct to"? Is there an HSI for navigation guidance? When you 'touch' the destination airport can you also pull up the airport info and frequencies? Are your radios 'manually' populated or will the setting self populate from the destination airport? Is Kanardia the only option or is Dynon, for example, an alternative? I really enjoyed your recent flying video as well. Stay warm.
@bushcattom
@bushcattom 2 жыл бұрын
Hello. Thanks for watching. So many questions. Yes you can set multiple waypoints not just “direct to”. I don’t think the Nesis is set up for HSI. I may be wrong on that point. Yes when you touch the destination airport you can also pull up airport info and frequencies. My radios are not interfaced with the Kanardia. I adjust those manually. The Kanardia is not the only option. Some BushCats have Dynons, some MGL. Good questions. Contact AeroSport for more details. They would love to talk to you.

Just out of curiosity, since I've got one coming myself, I wonder what you would you put on your panel that BushCatTom doesn't have? The all-in-one PFD/Engine display frees up a lot space the 6-pack steam gauges used to hog. Maybe a glovebox? ;->

Rewatching the other vid you pointed to the fuel gauge on the Nesis. & mentioned it again her. Fuel gauge? How does that work on the BushCat?
@bushcattom
@bushcattom 2 жыл бұрын
The Nesis reads the fuel burn in the engine according to the gph you set. You just have to manually set it when you gas up. Look over in the tank, find out how much you got, then enter it in. So it’s really just an estimate reading. But pretty accurate. For me I always look over my shoulder to make sure.

@bushcattom

Step one. Find a BushCat. Seriously though, get yourself a demo ride first thing. An introduction to the flight envelope of this great airplane will get you hooked. Once addicted the rest will come easy, since most of your waking hours will be spent figuring out flight instruction, how you’re going to fund the habit, and finally, once certified, how you’re gonna buy it. Are you within driving distance of either AeroSport or AeroSport South? They’ll get you started.

I appreciate the time it took to make this video, but you missed just a couple of things that I always look for, not that you were aware of this mind you. How do you adjust the baro and other common in flight adjustments. You did a great job on the map page with showing the operation of it. *subject change * My wife and I are deciding on a plane. We've gone thru all sorts of choices in our research. LSA only as we are Sport Pilot limited. The Bushcat is a very appealing plane but one thing stands in our way. How do you get to the cargo area from the front seat? We have 2 small dogs and their crate would be back there and we need access to them in flight. Can you show me some pix that make the 'Cat the obvious choice?
@bushcattom
@bushcattom Жыл бұрын
Hello. Okay to answer your questions: altimeter settings and the like are easy peasy with the Nesis III touch screen. The barometric pressure is found just under the altitude indicator. Press it and you'll get a screen to adjust pressure with the roll knob on the panel. As far as the cargo compartments are concerned, there are two in the BuchCat. The first is immediately behind the seats and accessible in flight. 55lbs max limit. Spacious but a dog crate would not be feasible. The second cargo compartment is much larger (40 lbs max limit) but accessible only from the outside fuselage opening. I don't know of an LSA that is designed to carry two passengers plus dogs. And you may want to consult the regs if a non-human can qualifiy as a "passenger". And a Light Sport pilot you've only got two to work with. However, the Vans RV-12 does have a small cockpit accessible cargo area (don't know if a dog crate would fit but maybe). The Sling LSA is similar. Also, the more pricey Bristells may have some space. Of all the Light Sports out there the Bushcat has one of the most largest cargo areas in the class--just not meant for small animals. Hope that isn't a deal breaker. You may want to think about the dog's perspective in flying. It is very very noisy in an airplane and it might frighten them or cause a panic. That said, it is possible to train dogs to get used to it --but it might take some effort. But as far as cargo carrying is concerend, the BushCat is a beast. Of course under the LSA rules you need to keep the gross weight at 1320lbs. But I'm telling you--you can stuff a whole lot more in that airplane. One fine day when the new MOSAIC rules are finalized I would expect the Bushcat to be given a minimum of 1550lbs for a gross weight. I don't know what your budget is, but if you want carrying space for a couple of dogs you're going to have to spend some serious money with a Bristell or Sling or similar LSA. Thanks for your questions -- and thanks for watching.
@AndyTulenko
@AndyTulenko Жыл бұрын
@@bushcattom We found a few LSAs that were designed as a 4 place and converted to a 2 place LSA. The Jabiru 230D is a great example. That one had 2 major issues that stopped us from going with it. The Rans S-21 is very similar in size but seems to be a fairly complex build. We like the BushCat for its ease and speed of construction. By the way, Dogs are 'property' or 'cargo' not passengers according to all the references I can find. Yeah, MOSAIC is going to change some things which is why we are trying to find the right plane for us now and after mosaic's release. By the way, Our dogs are small, Chihuahua mix and a Bull Terrier mix. Crates are easy to fit in compact spaces and weigh almost nothing.

No You Tuber ever talks about the 800lb gorilla in the room when it comes to airplane ownership and general aviation....lack of available hangers. Before you all decide you are going to get a Bushcat or any other fine LSA you had better check to see if you can get a hanger. In the area where I live, forget about it...multi year waits is the norm. If you don't mind keeping your plane outside in the elements, then this won't be an issue.
@bushcattom
@bushcattom 2 жыл бұрын
You’re right about hangar space being at a premium. That’s all a part of the hunt. But there are deals out there. So yes, everybody listen up: Finding your hangar is nearly as important as finding your plane. Get your ducks in a row people! Think through the process! If a hangar opens before you even buy your airplane pounce on it immediately! And thank Diesel Dan for a much needed reality check! And don’t despair, follow your dreams. And if you come to a roadblock get out and kick it off the road and proceed! Just lookout for any 800lb gorillas. They ARE out there. But even gorillas can be tamed.
