AI systems like ChatGPT's openai are taking the world by storm right now. I want to see to what limits we can use creative tools like this open to better our games and relieve some of the pressures of Dming and Playing. Character creation and backstory is what we are taking on today but I see a slew of new and exciting ways this could be used in the future IF the new OGL standards do not get in the way.

You're spot on with your analysis of input. A classic programming saying is, "Garbage in = Garbage out." The more you can reduce vagueness and ambiguity in your request, the better your output will be. To take this even further, I recommend you put in your best already crafted character and ask it to write an epic adventure with romance, political intrigue, and an unforeseen betrayal. You'll get a one shot just from that. You can use the tool to build out almost every part of the world and then unite it together yourself. Hell, you could ask for an odd couple and generate a foil to your character that compliments your skill set and build a whole party like that. You could ask it to come up with a villain that is opposed to your moral philosophies, or was shaped by a similar event you had in your backstory into a very different person, the BBEG. AI is powerful.

Dude facts! I’m already impressed. This series is fun and I think the more I use it the more I see how much I’ve underestimated AI in the past. I am pumped to see where people want to see the story go, so far the join a party of adventurers is in the lead. Once I gather that I think I will add some parameters like that. Thanks btw! My question for ChatGPT is to ask it to build a trustworthy NPC in the main town that will betray you in the lead up to a final fight and reveal themselves as the big bad

This just came up on my feed and I clicked out of curiosity. I think this is so brilliant--what a novel way of playing and finding creative use cases for AI! While the AI-generated responses are a little flat and rote, they certainly are serviceable, and yes, I can definintely see AI working as a great supplementary tool for D&D campaigns. Hats off to you!

Thank you! Yeah I starting to think it could be a great tool for people who are in smaller communities too. It’s still pretty early in tech and I could see it being a fun game someone can play in leu of having a party. There are still a lot of kinks that need addressed (many in my prompt) before I’d call it a smooth ride, but it is a fun one.

No, nothing unexpected, just seems more real now that it is on an AI server. I've always known what was in the fine print without reading it, but now it feels like signing your life away after reading they have access to your bank transactions, with all of this talk about the government slowly gaining access to be able to control how we spend our money. Talk which I try to avoid, but surrounded by those who discuss it. I did see a video where a woman was going to Whole Foods and needed her own QR code to pass the terminal to enter the store to food shop. Google and 23andMe married, business and personal. AI can have you committing a crime you didn't commit. It's just dystopia before utopia. People have always said, what you see in TV shows and movies are just signs of things to come. I want to play solo adventures, but signing up for the AI system seems sketch, even though I have already checked many agreement boxes in the last. Think I shall continue to watch you go in your solo adventure and I'll stick to the Solo Adventure's Toolbox.
