People are the heart and soul of any business. You can have all the brilliant ideas in the world, but without the right people to execute them, they're nothing more than pipe dreams.

This video is fantastic. I want to develop my skills to become a strategic differentiator within the HR department, driving a more impactful approach. To achieve this desired outcome, what specific steps or strategies can I take to develop these skills and navigate towards a more strategic HR approach within my organization?

Hi there! Great to hear that the video is helpful :) Here are three ways to increase your strategic impact in the HR department: 1: Understand the Business and Its Strategy: Deepen your understanding of the broader business strategy, its competitive landscape, and how HR can contribute to achieving strategic goals. Read more here: www.aihr.com/blog/strategic-human-resource-management/ 2: Leverage Data for Decision Making: Develop your ability to analyze and present relevant data to take a more strategic approach to HR management. Read more here: www.aihr.com/blog/organizational-culture-change/ 3: Stay Curious and Proactive: Adopt a behavior of strategic thinking by staying curious about the business, understanding the product, and anticipating changes in the macro-environment that might affect the organization. Hope this helps! If you'd like to dive deeper into these topics (or anything else HR related) make sure to check out our blog at www.aihr.com/blog/

Do I have use HR against my boss? She was upset I had signed up for a one-person shift. The manager below her rank (a 24/25-year-old man) is supposed to organize and keep an eye on who works which shifts on the schedule. Our boss scolded him for not noticing I had signed up to go solo for a coffee service, I believe. When she asked him if she thought I could do the shift, I answered for him with a firm "yes," because I felt belittled by her. She said she didn't think so, was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" (something like, that, so I'm not perfectly quoting her), and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. That was very insensitive and harsh, and I think that if she said that to a person with a learning disability, they would be hurt and deem her a bigot. I should've told her that, to make a point to her about tact. Can I go to HR for this?

The biggest challenge today for new graduates is expirience. More than half of the junior job positions require at least 2 years expirience in the field. Which can be a problem. In the future, HR department should find new ways of recruiting new talent tackling this problem.

Well, first, HR is a department label, not a qualification. Then there's the positioning of the CHRO with the other officers. CHROs have no power to force change on disinterested leaders. Then there's the ubiquitous problem that few people in HR have managed as significant of organizations as the people they are supposed to be guiding. Also, the ratio of experienced HR leaders to business leaders is why HR is not meeting the challenges of HR experts. UNTIL HR GETS THE AUTHORITY TO GO ALONG WITH THEIR RESPONSIBILITY, THINGS WILL NOT CHANGE, NOTWITHSTANDING WHAT ALL THE HR EXPERTS CLAIM.
@erikbritz8095 Жыл бұрын
The issue is even if we as HRs had more say in decision making it would not always benefit the company nor the owners etc. This is why i do agree things should change but i feel this could lead to many sourings of business relations inside businesses.
