2013 was quite a year for change. Now its 2014 and its time to get back into video editing. In this episode I look at what happens down range when you cant the rifle too far to one side. This can have serious implications if your not ready for it.

Thats a custom mount I made using a 30mm medium high scope ring, that I hacked the bottom off, then drilled and tapped a couple holes to screw down a GoPro mount. Works great. March 8th, I finally made it out to the range for the first time this year. Bad weather and a crappy work schedule have kept me from shooting. I now have footage to upload, look for that in the next week.

Ha, thats awesome and totally true. The trajectory of the bullet is indeed a parabola. If only more people would make that connection, we would have much better shooters across the board.

I don't mind the fish eye, it only really looks bad when you pan the camera fast.

Nice video. Did you record this with a GoPro? Record in 1080 or higher and then save the video in 720 and you should lose the fish eye.

Ryan What camera mount are you using to secure video camera to the rifle ? Today is Feb 15 , 2014 and the Valentine God blessed us with 70 degree F weather for the rest of the week , may the Norse God keep your white snow up there where it belongs ;)

Your not the first to mention that. I use the Gopro in its waterproof case alot of the time because I don't know what weather to expect. This makes the audio really bad out on the range because your speaking through plastic. At the end of the day, I need to upgrade my recording equipment all around.

I miss your videos about your f class persuit! Have you ever thought about going back with a more "suited" caliber for the job like the 6 ppc, 6br, 6.5x287, 30br or larger caliber? I know it's a lot of time and money to reach desired results but you had a dream and it was sad seeing you give up on it.. good luck

I started building a 6mmBR. Not sure if that project will ever get completed. My kids are getting older and more expensive. My hobbies are starting to take the side lines. I didn't really give up, Its a lack of resources that has slowed me down, priorities change as life moves on. I plan to go back to competitive shooting someday. Not sure when that will happen though. The videos will continue.

When you go to a location to shoot, what info do you need for bullet drop? Field elevation and temp, barr. setting or do you use density altitude? How did you make your drop sheets? break down by elevation and barr. setting or density altitudes? I sent a pvt message but the new mail system youtube has, most messages never go through. Check by /messages after the youtube.com in address bar. Many are just going to direct email because it's the 3rd time youtube has jacked with our pvt messages.

KZfaq has made messaging more difficult. I liked the old system better, much easier to manage comments and PM's. It depends what style you are shooting. If its a tactical competition, then yes everything you listed is a must. F-class gives you sighters, so there no real need for such detailed information. I sold my Kestrel weather station due to lack of use. I only shoot in a couple locations and I have the drops figured out now. Wind at your location is only good for rough guesses. Down range it could be blowing the other way. JBM ballistics is the best web source for drop charts that I have found.

***** Several ppl on youtube now use a pvt email just for messages since youtube keeps changing things. Maybe we should all do that. Thanks for your input, I'll go play with the ballistics program
