Lol, most probably racism. There's another skit on here with these two welcoming people aboard the plane, they both go silent mid sentence when a black man walks on.

I believe this is an insult to all Afrikaans speaking people worldwide, it may be funny to some but not to me. It is amazing to what lengths the producers of this video have gone to insult the Afrikaans speaking people. I am Afrikaans and proud to be Afrikaans. Why don't the producers use a Country that does not exist, for if they did they would not be insulting anyone, and the humor may be acceptable. However this is nothing new as a propaganda war has been waged against Afrikaans speaking people from South Africa for over 60 years, by the International Press organizations, Frans Maritz

If humour offends you, go sit in the corner with the Jews and Muslims - and don't come back out until you've learnt to smile!
@wildhorseentertainment58907 жыл бұрын
Really Yorick is that the best you can come up with I never said it was not funny. However as funny as it is, it is also just as insulting to the people it was intentionally made to insult. You may not understand all this so I can understand why you only see the humor. Oh and your comment made me smile, thanks
@yorickhunt33717 жыл бұрын
Wildhorse Entertainment Rather presumptuous of you to expect I'd give you my best? We can redress this subject when talk of remuneration comes up. Allow me to remind you of a time when people gave as good as they got, when humans had skin thick enough to withstand far more than mild breezes. Back then there was no such concept as political correctness and the merest suggestion that one was offended would land far more offensive material on that person than they'd ever have dared imagine. As a little boy coming to Australia from a non-anglophone country, I was taunted beyond belief - for being an immigrant (to wit, "a wog," "a dago"), for not having a grasp of the Queen's English, for not knowing my way around, for eating salami instead of meat pies, for listening to teachers instead of being an arsehole to them. As time progressed, I was attacked for being too fat, too skinny, too tall, too short, too smart, too stupid, too ugly, too attractive - you name it, I had it hefted upon me at some stage or other. Should I have wailed, whined, whinged as appears to be the tool of choice for those who decide they've been treated less than regally? Should I have proclaimed "discrimination" (of any of a myriad forms legislated against these days) and demanded the emotional decapitation of the offenders? Not a chance. Shit on me, I'll shit on you twice, then we'll laugh and shake hands and have a drink or three together. Life's *FAR* too short to actively seek out reasons to shorten it. Those who're not only bowing to their (usually contrived) sensitivities but actively shouting them from the rooftops are simply asking for trouble. Back to the matter at hand... I've in the past interacted with several folk of South African descent, people with varying degrees of what I'd consider an "Afrikaaner accent." I also regularly interact by 'phone with many business associates strewn across South Africa. It was immediately evident to me that neither of these comediennes had any sort of credible grasp of the accent, but then I also didn't catch anything which could be readily identifiable specifically with South Africa in the sketch. The racism could easily (actually far more appropriately) have been attributed to Septics (read: USians), and the stewardesses' general air-headedness is truly international (trust me, I've interacted with many flight staff - both male and female - and I can assure you that none were hired for their intellect nor wit!). Until you and a handful of others started expressing discontent that these comics were lambasting Afrikaaners, I really didn't give any thought to that aspect of the sketch. Perhaps Poms and Afrikaaners identified something in the sketch which the rest of the world couldn't or wouldn't? It's like a sketch about an unfortunately ugly guy with a big nose and tiny dick being funny until someone in the audience complains that it's making fun of Jews... It's like a sketch about a man who loves his goat until someone complains that it's making fun of Arabs... It's like a sketch about an in-bred hick with the IQ of an amoeba until someone complains that it's making fun of Americans. Take things at face value and laugh to your heart's content - as time passes, we have ever-fewer reasons to laugh; embrace each opportunity as it appears.
