Nice video but I would prefer to connect the air line direct to the nozzle and use the M08 signal to control a relay module to turn the compressor on and off.

Hi Wiebe Audenaerd, thank you for your comment. When it comes to air assist, you can either go for a true compressor, and in this case I suggest a quiet and oil-free compressor or a dedicated air pump which now can be nought by the various brands. The difference between a compressor and an air pump is in the pressure; the air pump is more like a high-pressure fan, but the pressure and airflow is usually enough for the purpose. I use a quiet - oil-free compressor from vevor but I regulate the pressure output to about 3bar or about 45psi. The only caveat with a compressor is that you will need a water trap to avoid water getting into the line. Below you will find some links to the various product. I would suggest some dedicated air pump, compact and quiet; just pay attention to the hoses so that you can plug the various components. Thanks for the video. Is it only the 3rd series where you can add az electronic valve, or there is a way to do it on the 2nd as well?

I just purchased a Genmitsu Laser Engraver Cutter Air Assist Nozzle Air Pump Kit to go with my NeJe Pro. Do I disconnect the air assist that came with the NeJe and use the M8 connector on the motherboard for power and connect the air hose from the Genmitsu directly to the air assist nozzle on the laser unit? I REALLY need your help!! Thank you :)

Hi, clell osburn; thank you for your comment. The M08 in the mainboard of your NEJE Machine is designed to control the Electro valve that you should have received with the machine, alternatively, you could use the switch (small black box) originally designed for the fan to control the air pump. The connection should be as follows: Method 1 - Direct control of the pump without a valve. Air --> From the air pump to the nozzle on the Laser Module. Electric --> The power supply of the air pump should be connected to the black switch and from the black switch to the air pump. Mind the side if is DC power or AC. The black switch can be connected to the M08 in the Mainboard. Method 2 - Valve Control (Simplest) Air --> From the air pump or compressor to the NEJE's valve and from the valve to the nozzle on the Laser Module. Electric --> The Valve connected to the M08 in the Mainboard. The air pump or compressor should be energized separately. Let me know Ciao

Hi, can you tell me please if both axe Y stepper motors cables are wired in the same way ? I can’t find indication about that and don’t know if the right Y stepper motor direction is inverted physically by the pins or by the software.

Hi, Issam BATTI; thank you for your feedback, I guess you refer to the NEJE 3 MAX since the 3 PRO does not have a double y-Axes motor. I haven't had this machine, but in general, Machines with two steppers for the y-axis use two different approaches depending on the board. Either an in-software direction inversion for one of the steppers or swapped wiring for the stepper motor cloning method. From what I can see in the 3 Max Board, the wiring is the same (follow the numbers) cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0370/4215/9752/products/NEJE-3-MAX-mainboard2_b60e2901-afa0-4630-8197-1ef5ea085e1a_1024x1024@2x.jpg?v=1648912466 This means that if one of the motors pushes in the opposite direction, it is a configuration problem, and I would recommend using the NEJE app to update the firmware. I do not know of a way to invert just one of the steppers on the same axis from the GRBL configuration that should be coded in the firmware stored in the board. Let me know how it goes. Ciao

@@MiddleRoomWorkshop hi, thank you for the reply. To be sure I unplugged one of both stepper motors and I tested one by one without belt. So I confirm that is GRBL that invert the rotation of the left motor on the code. Maybe that can help others makers.

Hi, Issam BATTI, thank you for your feedback. That means that the gantry tends to sway, i.e., so say, the right stepper pulls down, and the left pulls up. Is that right? I will investigate further on it, but as I mentioned earlier, this is the Machine's maker implementation. I haven't been experiencing machines behaving like this. An alternative would be to re-wire one of the steppers so the signal is physically inverted. Ciao

@@MiddleRoomWorkshop I think that NEJE designed the machine like that to facilitate the cables wiring for users. You don’t have to wire cables differently for right and left motor. You have just to plug right motor cable on the right connector ( Y - R ) on the mainboard and doing the same for the left motor. Like that, GRBL can send the right signal for each motor to turn on the right direction.
