Just wire the branch tightly...no need to remove the bark?

Hello, In Japan it's good to do in March. Because coming three months, tree will be thick, and in June, it's rain season here.and temp. Around25degrees. Then high possibility of success. So how is UK? Three months before rain season when tree get there thicker. Please research weather then you will find the answer😊
