The wing foiling is superb. The seamless panels are re very clever. It's the one thing that worries me that I wouldn't cut it right to get it to match up exactly.
@RichardsModellingAdventures28 күн бұрын
It’s quite easy. The blade follows the Panel lines quite well

@@ricardoroberto7054 Keep practicing with it. It does become quite routine after a while, however I have been building models one way or another for 55 years..I built my first Airfix Spitfire when I was 5, yes I'm old 😆

@@RichardsModellingAdventures I am a bit older !! and started at 11 and enjoy making them and like to think I am ok at it but never tried the foil. One day one day....

I am convinced, from studying a wartime photo of MJ250 on take off, carrying bombs, that it was a clipped wing aircraft.
@RichardsModellingAdventures29 күн бұрын
Yes indeed it probably was

I did wonder if one day I might buy this model. Having seen the wingtip thickness, its convinced me that I most definitely will not! Come on Airfix, you can do better than that!

Don’t let it put you off, it’s still a good kit but if you’re picky like me it does need work

Lot of work on those wings Rich, 😅. Incredible attention to detail, just like the rest of this build. 👏And definitely worth the effort in this scale...Love those "Dad's Army" bobble heads 😍 🍻

Cheers Dean 😀👍it’s starting to wear me down a bit now. I’m looking forward to building something else at some point.

All the extra work required is why they named it Air"fix".

Hahaha 🤣

The thickness of that trailing edge is exactly why I don't buy airfix. No effort or concern from the production team. At that scale it could and should be what you had after fixing. I would love a job at airfix as chief headshaker. They are the British Leyland of plastic models..... 🙃
@deanmaguire670129 күн бұрын
Hi "Speech", another way to look at the issue is that it gives the Modeller the opportunity to hone and display their skills and achieve something better than what arrived in the box. Making the final result all the more sweeter and satisfying for the effort you put in. Personally I enjoy the challenge of trying to turn a " Pigs ear into a Silk purse ", but each to their own. 🍻 P.S. No criticism implied here, just another point of view. 🍻

Haha I love that analogy 😂👍😀

@@deanmaguire6701 this is true too but some of the “classic kits” should be put in the bin to save time

Is there ever a point where a modeller can take a build too seriously?
@RichardsModellingAdventures20 күн бұрын
That’s a very good question. I see it as a personal journey ( I just happen to be filming it) while I enjoy the process all is good. Take a look at the world of model making, this is nothing compared to the lengths some people go. 👍
@Jimmythefish57714 күн бұрын
@@RichardsModellingAdventuresto be clear my question it wasn’t meant as a criticism or to be rude, I guess I’m speaking from a personal perspective, I know I often get caught up in trying to make a kit perfect, to the point it seems to become a chore rather than fun and enjoyable.

I do question myself on this subject, all is good. Model making by its very action is quite personal. We have the freedom to do as we please. Thanks again for the input for the input
