Hello, my name is Doug, and welcome to Air Purification Education. I am a Professional Air Purification Consultant with over 16 years of real-world experience. Through the years I have dealt with over 70 different air purification solutions and I have sold various indoor air quality solutions to thousands of customers all over the world worth millions of dollars.
So here are just some of the environments and issues that I’ve dealt with in over 15 years of consulting (Consultant Airpurifiers):
I’ve dealt with Dust, Allergies, Asthma, Mold, Covid, and Viruses.
I’ve worked with Different types of Smoke Environments including:
In-Home Cigarette Smoke, Cigar Smoke, Smoke coming from neighbors, and Wildfire Smoke, like the west coast - CA. Oregon, Washington.
I’ve dealt with Pet allergies and pet dander typically involving: Cats, Dogs, and Birds - birds shed a lot of dander for sure.
I’ve dealt with Different types of Chemically Sensitive People aka, MCS - Multiple Chemical Sensitivities.
I’ve worked with a lot of Schools and purification solutions for their Classrooms.
I’ve helped people purify their College Dorm Rooms (many Universities have super old buildings on campus that house students and they have mold issues and sometimes the students get sick....)
I’ve provided solutions for various 16 Business Offices, Doctor offices, Dentist offices, Hospitals, Museums, and Churches. I’ve helped a lot of churches
Car air purification recommendations.
I’ve dealt with Many different types of Odors and VOCs aka. I’ve dealt with people who have spent over a million dollars for their dream home but couldn’t move in for months because the new how was off-gassing too much and it was making them sick.
I've dealt with many Musty smelling Basements,
I’ve even dealt with a few Meth Amphetamine labs and some 34 Marijuana odors.
I’ve dealt with the fumes from cars being spray-painted.
I’ve dealt with Diesel Fuel Fumes coming from school buses.
I’ve made recommendations for VOCs coming from paper manufacturing plants in NC.
Also, poor air quality created by airports, especially LAX.
I helped many people a few years back in California - when they had the largest natural methane gas leak in the history of the United States - which involved thousands of residents...
I've also been involved with air purification solutions for the terrible air quality in China...
Through the years, I've interacted with and learned from engineers and high-level air quality professionals,
and once I even consulted with a Billionaire in the US about air purification for his multi-million dollar mansion in AZ. He bought 4 units. Airpurifier review Consultant Airpurifiers
And I could go on and on but we'll just stop there. I just wanted to give you an idea of just some of the diverse environments that I have experience with in helping people with their air quality issues. I've obviously seen and heard a lot of stuff through the years.
I am not sponsored by any air purification company or brand and I do NOT work for any manufacturer or dealer. Any units I test - I purchase myself with my own money. I completely work independently these days. So, I am in a position to provide my 100% unbiased opinions on what is best for you and your specific needs.

Cool channel. I just spent 40 straight hours trying to find a filtering solution to our manufactured hardwood flooring off gassing problem. Formaldehyde is 4 ppm in this house and is affecting my lungs. The amount of misinformation online was staggering. Misinformation, exaggeration, false claims, one size fits all thinking. I finally had to reference published scientific papers to get objective information, (not white papers). Even my allergist said just go get you an activated carbon air purifier…..sigh.

Thank you and sorry for the problems you are experiencing. 1) I've dealt with people in the past with some horrific formaldehyde issues - some got really sick and/or had to live in a hotel (after their expensive "dream house" had been built). 2) If I had a real bad formaldehyde issue I'd look at the IQAir GC Multigas unit and I'd also contact www.airpura.com/ to see what they think is their best unit for formaldehyde. I would feel confident with either company's solution. 3) That said, another thing you can do is heat up the room(s) with the flooring and open the windows and include a fairly strong fan in the window(s) to blow the air out. Offgassing increases when the flooring gets heated so you heat the room and then have the windows open and even use a fan and it will really help get the flooring to offgass quicker. I know of a contractor in NY who did this for people who got new cabinets with formaldehyde problems and he used an industrial fan in the window and heated the rooms and charged good money. He claimed he could "fix" the problem in a day or 2 but I'm not sure how accurate that is. Thanks and Good Luck! 👍

@@AirPurificationEducation Thanks! Windows open and heat is on. Unfortunately the home is 8 years old. Builder used questionable sources and a lot of manufactured wood inside. Flooring, all cabinets, most of the wood trim, I have 2 year old manufactured wood furniture….I didn’t know formaldehyde was a real problem. I thought everyone was just exaggerating about it’s effects. : )

Thanks for the videos. I am living in Chiang Mai, norther Thailand, a place infamous for the "smoke season' where the AQI can get above 250 and even 300 for much of March, April and May. Now it's happening earlier and earlier. I am extremely fit and healthy, and I think I am reasonably sensitive to the smoke, as my throat can get sore if the AQI is above 90 or so... You mentioned a form to fill out for a recommendation on a air purification system, but I can't find the form?

Wow - that does not sound very good. The form link has been deactivated but you can ask me whatever you wish right here - if you want and I may be able to help you - thanks!👍

Hi Doug. How important is it for filters to be tested to EN 1822 standards? I was about to order the Airpura p714+ but decided to hold back when I realized that Airpura is not EN1822 certified. What are your thoughts on Airpura compared to IQAir HPP and Aeris 3-1? Airpura rep did mention that some testing are very expensive and not necessary. 😕
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 8 ай бұрын
Hey, I do think the EN 1822 standards are somewhat more common internationally... I don't expect a lot of companies in North America to have it... and Airpura is in Canada so I understand. So, I won't say it is critical for a company to have this for the air purifier to be good. Most any air purifier will improve the quality of air in a room to varying degrees. But IQAir and Aeris have superior particle filtration and they both have EN 1822 certifications. I do not think this is a coincidence. 2) That said, Airpura is a very good air purifier manufacturer and they are GREAT for carbon/VOC solutions... and I think they are Good for particle filtration. I know they have the Super and ULPA filter options but I would have to see serious 3rd party testing results to 100% believe they filter at those elite levels for particles. I don't think anyone would be making a mistake when they order an Airpura air purifier - they are very good. I just don't currently know if they are able to filter the all-important and dangerous ultrafine particles as well as the IQAir HPP or the Aeris 3 in 1. 3) Yes, testing can be expensive - I agree... but I will say, if I owned an air purification manufacturer and I wanted to prove to the world that my solutions are elite - then I would get mine tested and prove it to everyone like IQAir and Aeris have.... That is what I currently think. Thanks!👍

Hi Doug! This is Jennifer with Mold Help For You. You emailed me regarding linking to me if your viewers have questions about mold testing. For some reason, Yahoo is not accepting my reply email. The message gave me an error code to provide to you. If you would like to send me another email with your phone number, I can screenshot and share that with you. I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome which has caused extensive damage to my nervous system that has left me severely disabled. After a recent fumigation, my family ran the AC a month later and I suffered a severe decline i believe was caused by company forgetting to run ventilation while fumigation happened (it was off when we came home) and now cannot be around simple things like soap, shampoo, deodorants, cleaners, dust, etc without massive pain and damage. Even public cleaning of the hallways in our apartment complex makes me horribly sick, and I have to close all windows but then get somewhat sick from the inside air. My family is trying to help me, but I have to live in a large living room/kitchen where I can be taken care of and its really easy for smells to make their way from other rooms into where i am and make me sick. I was looking at the IQAir GC as a possible solution? Do you think that's a good fit or have others you recommend? I don't know if mold plays any sort of issue so was hesitant when you mentioned it's not great at filtering that sort of stuff.

Hey Brian - I am sorry to hear of these issues that are bothering you. I have run across other folks in the past who immediately became chemically sensitive from crawlspace "cleanings"/insulation implementations in the attic-type stuff, etc. Sometimes, entire families became very chemically sensitive within 24 hours of these events. I sympathize with you. 1) I think the GC is probably one of your best options for you as it is very strong for taking the odors out of the air that are bothering you. It is a very good unit. Yes, the HealthPro Plus is better for ultra-fine particles but it sounds like your biggest need by far is odor/VOCs removal and therefore, I'd look at the GC unit. 2) You may also want to check with AirPura.com as they specialize in carbon for odors/VOCs and they are a very reputable company. You can contact their company and tell them what is going on and I would trust them to provide good advice for you. 3) I think these would be the two best options that I have real-world experience with. I also think you may wish to consult a reputable holistic/naturopath doctor to try to detox your system as I think many MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitive) people eventually obtain relief from MCS when they can detox the "bad stuff" out of their system - which is triggering their MCS symptoms. I think you can become much healthier with the help of a very good holistic doctor. Sometimes you have to try a few different ones to find "the one". But I think he/she is out there for you... and with the right guidance - I think you can become much healthier. Thank you and Good Luck! 👍

What do think about the LUFTRUM air purifier on Amazon
@AirPurificationEducation
@AirPurificationEducation 9 ай бұрын
Hello, I never heard of it so I just looked it up for a few minutes on Amazon and their website - and here are my initial knee jerk reactions: 1) It is pretty good looking for an air purifier, IMO - so I do like that and I do like the size of it. 2) Air quality sensors in much more expensive air purifiers are oftentimes not accurate so I don't think an $89 car air purifier will have an accurate sensor. 3) Made in China and cheap - how well can it really clean the air for $89 I wonder and how long will it last? 4) Doctors and Scientists are saying UltraFine Particles are the most abundant and hazardous to our health - .1 to .003 microns in size. And I highly doubt it does a good job on those particles. 5) I don't see 3rd Party Testing on the product so it's possible it was not 3rd party tested and therefore, it becomes hard for me to believe any of their claims on performance. 6) I think the owner may have worked for Blueair in the past as "Chief Designer". And if true, I currently don't consider Blueair to be great at filtration... they are good at making nice looking units... but they are not elite at air purification, IMCO - In My Current Opinion. 7) I currently prefer the IQAir Atem Car (@ $400) and the Amaircare Roomaide (@ $209-$249). 8) All that being said - most air purifiers will help improve the quality of air in a space even if they are not great at what they do. So, for $89 bucks - if it can help clean your air even 40% - then I think that would be a deal, right? Those are my knee jerk opinions without really knowing much about this product - Hope that helps - thanks! 👍
