Swiss cheesing a piston to reduce weight resulting in less impact on the gearbox shell. It also makes the piston return time quicker which is needed in high rate of fire builds.

The pistons are SHS 14 tooth pistons, However i don't recommend getting them as the recent batches have problems. Either go for a 15 tooth shs piston, Swiss cheese it and glue the rack in or go for a lonex blue piston and again lighten it etc. I prefer having all metal teeth, easier to work with and a lot less easier to mess up. You may want to step up to a m120 and short stroke by 2 teeth,may prevent any pre engagement you may be getting. Also make sure your AOE is spot on.

Its not meant to increase rate of fire, more to prevent pre-engagment, however as there is less mass to move it could increase rate of fire. There are videos that people have posted on this subject before and i am hoping to do my own tests in the future. Some of these videos prove-disprove, i wont be sure until i actually do some tests myself. Thanks AT

Awsome video! But i'd just like to ask what pistons you use, as i have been using element full metal teeth pistons and i have had two fail on me now. One instance where the metal teeth stripped on it and another where the actual piston its self cracked and shattered in multiple places. Im using a vfc gearbox with the standard vfc gearset and an m100 spring on a ascu 11.1v.

It's more for dsg or high rps setups. It shortens the return time of the piston to prevent prengagement witch would strip your piston tracks

Mark Weeks Actually it can. It only increases it by a couple rounds, but because it is lighter, it cycles faster, allowing for more rounds in 1 second.

Of course you can, but people building high speed pistons are fully capable of swissing pistons themselves, so why spend the extra money?

In that case I guess you might as well save yourself the labor of swissing the piston. I prefer to swiss my own pistons, as I like do things like that my own way.
