I know that's little consolation, but it doesn't seem to be a problem specific to the UK, but is rather common when it comes to military procurement. The armoured infantry of our German "Lach- und Schießgesellschaft" (Laughing and Shooting Society, aka "Bundeswehr") have their fair share of problems with the IFV "Puma", which is known to still be plagued by numerous errors - after years of development and countless test runs - despite supposedly being ready for serial production and suitable for military use... at least it is certified to be used for the transport pregnant soldiers (no, I'm not pulling your leg, that was one of the most bizarre requirements that actually made into the official specification document). 😂 It would have been better if the UK and Germany had developed a common system together, then we could at least say: "A sorrow shared is a sorrow halved" 😉
@jonathanparry7824
@jonathanparry7824 14 күн бұрын
The reason for the problems was it wasn’t designed and tested before going into to production, it was designed and immediately went into production and the army kept changing their minds about things they wanted on the vehicle

We had all kinds of issues with Warrior when she came out. But in Bosnia Gornji Vakuf 1PWO B Coy we loved that vehicle. The biggest issue with warrior was the radio’s overheating. For the amount of road mileage we did on those tours I was amazed at how reliable they were. We drove the pants off of those things and I never had one major breakdown.

High bass and low volume can affect a moving object by mitigation of the distance required to decrease velocity as it's a resistor to the incoming... Digeridos can pick up rocks with the right bass projectiles can be at the very least become inaccurate basically making low volume high bass an invisible cover undetectable (it's wind) seriously this is good for SMF.

It's the size of a tank, approx 35 tonnes, can only carry 4+2 crew and was intended as a light recce vehicle The highly successful vehicle it is supposed to replace is the CVRT, half the size at least, faster and weighed 9 tonnes and quite sneaky. I would suggest it's going to be rubbish unless they think of a brand new role for it.

How on earth was this abomination not put out of its misery, early on. This was supposed to be a direct replacement for the retired CVRT family of vehicles, highly mobile, lightweight,fast reconnaissance tanks........and you've ended up with a vehicle as heavy as a medium tank, about the same size as a warrior IFV but can only carry half the crew. It's huge, far too big for it's intended role, decades overdue and incredibly expensive. This is why the UK forces are financially screwed

BAE was not fully ready and the army was looking for an off-the-shelf option. Because the AJAX was based off a used system, they thought they could save time and money going with it but when they pushed it to the max. It did not meet the standards expected of it (GD said it could handle the weight load and the UK army pushed it to that with armour and tech but testing showed it couldn't, same idea with the boxer)

Waste of money, take an old '90s proven IFV, spend £5.5 billion, remove the ability to carry soldiers and have something the size of a barn carry out reconnaissance. Oh and they think it won't be fully ready until 2028. How many cheap disposal drones with a HEAT round duct taped to it does that buy? Ah but let us not forget, we also purchased the Boxer as our new APC. Did you know? The Boxer also has a CVR model. That's Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle. Now let's put our thinking caps on. The Ajax was to replace the old CVR(Tracked)s. Ickle light tanks that were obsolete decades ago. The Boxer has a wheeled CVR, Australia has them, we are buying Boxer's anyway....Does the Ajax represent good value for taxpayers money? No it does not. Noone else will want them, exports are out to reduce cost. There are too few of them to make a strategic difference in a proper war. Look at the attrition of vehicles in Ukraine. The Boxer IFV is £1.6 million cheaper per unit. The boxer is ready now. We are ordering the Boxer (shared cost for parts). The Boxer is used by other NATO countries, shared parts) and the Boxer comes in all the variants required. So if you are British, and like me wondering how a country with the 6th highest GDP is crumbling. Look to projects like Ajax.
