This is a base line people need to understand, man. Virtua Fighter is JUST a fighter. A really in depth, pure, by the books, and very influential fighting game. This meta, story, parallel universe craze really overshadows games like THESE that never needed a story to have appeal. It honestly sucks even as an enjoyer of string theory.

A fighting game without lore and individual story arcs for all fighters, is an empty, joyless husk, with no personality, and no depth to it, this is why most fighting games actually contain lore because the characters present therein should have unique personalities and motivations for fighting, and story arcs serve to provide this, this actually makes us care about the characters and the game, remove it and we have a void that serves only to foster dis-interest in said game, and as it so happens, Virtua Fighter is, by all intents and purposes a dead game, so, no, Virtua Fighter not having a story doesn't make it "unique" it makes it bland and boring and unsophisticated.

@@alltheworldsastage4785 Maybe in your opinion. The reason why i say it makes it more unique is because, some of us actual care more about just playing the game than just only the story. There is joy to the game not just because of whether or not theres story but because of the gameplay. And the game does have personality. You can literally see the personality in the characters mannerism and behaviors. While i can agree that having a story in a game makes the game interesting in terms of seeing events unfold and finding a reason to care it doesnt necessarily mean all games need a story and that it makes the game "unsophisticated", and "empty". You be surprised how many people who are into fighting game s say "We dont need a story mode" and that "Most people play fighting games FOR THE GAME, not the story. Thats just for those who care more about one aspect of the game and less about the gameplay itself. Personally when i play im not looking for a story or caring what the story is about. I just wanna play the game and just have fun. And thats why games are creatd for us. Its for ou personal entertainment and amusement. A common opinion on a game lacking or not having a story doesnt mean its a fact. Someone out there besides me will like this game regardless if lore is or isnt being implemented.

@@etrotm12thebluewolf15 People who say they don't need a story are usualy those who play for competive reasons, as opposed to being invested in the lore, that's mostly in the minority, but if you understand the true power of a story mode, you'd understand why it exists, and why it persists, sure, in game quotes from characters and their behaviours can give you a clue as to what they are about, but story mode goes deeper.

@@alltheworldsastage4785 Even so competitive reasons arent the only reason to love a game. Some of us are invested in the love in the game not only for story but like i said the quality gameplay. Some games are fun with a story or without one, others arent so much. And yeah a story mode gives you a deeper glimpse of the personality of the characters but to me i still think that was only intended for those who are into lore in games trying to care about the game not just giving a story to a game just for the sake of keeping the game from being empty. Im just the kind of guy who likes to take what he can get and just interpret the game for myself. If it wasnt for Virtua Fighter for having characters with certain interactions with other characters in trailers and opening sequences, then people (including myself) wouldnt really wonder about what the story is in the game. I think it would only be a problem for people looking for a story not for those who just wanna play a game for either just the fun of it, or like you said, to be competitive. Its not to say I dont like games with story. I actually think a story mode in a game is fun, but so would a game without a story. Only thing left to do with that game is see if its fun to play or not. And if it is, I can safely guarentee the game would do more better than a game with a story mode with bad gameplay and especially a game with bad gameplay and a bad story or no story. Pretty much another reason why i see Virtua Fighter being a unique game. Because its just a fighting game. And i wouldnt mind a story mode, but thats what i like Virtua Fighter for. Not having a (prominent) story and just being a regular, fun and deep game to pass the time.

@@VirtuaBros your Virtua Fighter lore series got me to buy Virtua Fighter 2 ( on PS3 ) and eventually i beat the game as Jacky Bryant. I couldn't beat the underwater bonus stage though.

I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with dubbing over the voice acting myself and uploading it. It's been a little crazy adjusting my schedule to accommodate a new baby boy so I haven't been able to work on it directly but it's always been on my mind

@@journeyvids9737 I mean, have Virtua Fighter characters become mainstays of the TEKKEN franchise, not the other way around, VF is a dead game anyway, noone plays that shit anymore, but it is undeniable that some of their characters are pretty cool and would make great TEKKEN fighters.

@@alltheworldsastage4785 woah crazy you're saying it's a dead game, Ultimate Showdown is gaining it's audience. People still play VF, even Harada supports vf5 ultimate showdown because he wants VF6. VF is definitely not dead and saying the characters should be pass on to Tekken is a major no no and it will ruin Virtua Fighter. As guest characters is the way to go.
