I have to tell you, you’re one of the reasons I’m happily married with a wonderful family. In 2006 I was sitting in an Army bus heading to training and heard a fellow soldier singing this song at the top of his lungs, and singing it well. It was all over from there. So, thank you for that. ❤️

I remember I was 18 years old in college when I discovered Al Green I am now 67 years old and he has been on my playlist ever since you can't go wrong with any Al Green song in my opinion

He is a preacher. Stayed out of the limelight for almost four decades! Discovered him in 1972 with his albom "Let's stay together", when I was fourteen. In awe.

There's a reason he's REVEREND Al Green! Everything he's ever sung is pure soul spirit. He sneaks up on you. Just love. If you're doing Annie Lennox songs, check out the Al Green/ Annie Lennox duet 'Put A Little Love In Your Heart', it's very uplifting.

I wore out at least four 8-track tapes of Al Green in the 70's. It was the first tape I reached for every time I got in my car to go to the beach, or a party, or on a date - so romantic and so much pure soul. All love to Reverend Al!

I loved seeing your face when he started singing. Back in the 70's, this is how we reacted, we couldn't believe his voice and talent. He was like no other. Please try Let's Stay Together and one of my favorites, For the Good Times. No matter what you pick, you can't go wrong with this amazing guy.

@@cw5451 It was suggested by someone in Andy Gibbs camp, (I forget who?) that for his come-back he should team up with Daryl and John for colab on his songwriting. But Barry stepped in and wrote instead. Love "She's Gone." But never cared for "Sarah Smile." Go figure, huh?☺

Al Green one of the great soul singers of the 70's who scored quite a few hits back then. My favorite has to be LET'S STAY TOGETHER. This was an early hit for the Bee Gees and Al made good on it. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A GREAT SOUL SONG YOU GOTTA HEAR THE DELLS SINGING " THE LOVE I HAD STAYS ON MY MIND"

I'm 56 years old and I learned about Al Green's music when I was 10 yrs old as my older sisters would play it. I absolutely can not live without his music. His music is created for every single aspect of a person's life. I play him every chance I get on my surround sound full house system, and it uplifts my spirit. I'm so fascinated and happy that you have discovered Al Green as well young man. All I can say is.......enjoy!

My generation was so fortunate to have so many talented artists from many genres to admire, Al Green was a master of his trade. Also when you look back on most live performances from the 60's & 70's, the audience actually respected the artist and paid attention until the end, unlike today.

Barry once said you can’t just sing a song, you have to BE the song.... and Al Green just demonstrated that 1000%. He was in character and feeling it. His studio version is also wonderful, and there’s another live version that’s awesome.

Yes, JayVee, he was amazing and I'll bet he still is today delivering the right material because he was blessed with the goods as much as anyone ever. He was doing what he was placed here to do. Al Green was so electric I doubt he ever gave exactly the same performance ever. They were each simply amazing and heartfelt.

I saw him about 15 years ago in London. What a great performer. When he sang this my girlfriend the time and I just looked at each each other and embraced. Such a beautiful song.
