6:20 mark when you speak about silence/clarity. 🎯🎯🎯 I just logged out of all forms of social media. I’m not participating in fb/TikTok/IG and from watching the news this year. I’m trying to get the clarity AND rest you speaking about. I want to focus on things that truly inspire me. I appreciate you for all you’ve done for me just simply through the videos you upload. I want to be apart of the community building your doing from the last video I watched. I just want to LIVE.. that’s it . ❤, peace, rest and blessing to you and all Black Women around this globe for 2023 and beyond. May this be the the start of healing for all black women what ever that may look like🥳

OMG people pleasing is one of my biggest struggles I mean biggest. I’ve sacrificed myself in so many ways being a people pleaser. I need to unpack that and really removed that out of my life. It’s the main thing that takes me away from rest, deep rest. Thank you so much for this video.

This is the main theme of winter in the first place. TMH gave us this season. Even it is a sign of rest. The other day, while feeling cozy, having accepted rest, I received an image of my foremothers finally enjoying resting thru me! My DNA spoke to me and unforseen purpose: "I am the rest my mothers had not fully experienced." Imagine that! Imagine the turmoil within our DNA finally taking a deep breath and letting go of that past . ! Imagine all of them, .. triple great grancestors all finally being able to release ... Thus heal ... Bc of our rest. Commandments are a gift for peaceful living from TMH Creator! HLH HWH ✨💖✨

Mine too, this is a lifelong goal for me! The world thinks that black women are only worth what they produce/ provide, and this sets you up for being exploited and prostituted! I deserve to be loved just because I am a human being and that is what everyone needs to thrive! Another goal of mind is to no longer be a people pleaser! AMEN 😭🙂🙏

I wish I could rest. Having children especially a toddler makes it hard to relax even when I finally get my child down for a nap being that I'm a stay at home mom right now, it's so late in the day that I don't have much time to relax and then it's time to cook dinner. Enjoy the rest ladies especially when you can afford to do selfcare cause I have fibroids now due to the stress in my life. Anyways thanks for the helpful video.

Thank you for your videos. I've been conditioned to always be productive. I have a hard time to sit and just really relax and let things be. It's like I'm in survival mode 24/7 and it's exhausting. I'm gonna learn to take better care of myself this year by learning to let go and just let the chips fall where they may.

Same, sis-Miss Always On over here 🙋🏾‍♀️ I’ll over work, over achieve, and over produce until burnout. Then I’ll shut down and isolate and then feel guilty for not being productive during my shutdown phase 😅 Sounds crazy AF and I’m finally to the point of exhaustion and I’m ready, willing, and able to change-as are you. Peace. Alecia. I have listened to some of your videos and this one is so on point with what is going on today. I just wanted to share that many years ago when people were debating about feminism and so forth. I always said that Black Women Never had to fight for the right to work like white women did. We need to fight to sit down! and I stand by that. When have Black Women not worked come on. I read a news article not long ago that said Black women actually went to College and entered the worked more than white women did during the 80's. Yes we always take full advantage when we have choices but now leading up to this era in life our Sisters need to be able to REST! in many aspects of our lives and your prayer at then end was beautiful as well as just the conversation we all must have as a collective and with our inner selves as to what our fears are and how do we finds way to REST and not feel at all guilty about it because we know women will work if needed but it is our time to acknowledge where we are and the detriment is is causing for us our mothers Grandma's and the young women coming up - so our lives can be fuller and not exhausting. Blessings!

Thank you so much for this🙏🏿 I've also been raised being told if you're resting, you're lazy, unproductive, passive, and not wanting anything in life. It has become so toxic, I removed myself from them. I need quiet time!! Also as you said, having the pleasure to do what you enjoy is a part of it. It took a journey in my life to realize it. Thanks again, best of 2023🥰

I've never seen your channel before and this is such a beautiful video. It really speaks to me as a gentle black woman. I'm getting married soon and I just want to live peacefully with him as the peacemaker. It's beautiful that you speak of God too. We beleive that the most high is black, though. But he's watching over all of his children that live right and we'll all find the right path along the way. This video just speaks to me.

Alecia, I truly ❤ your content. It resonates with me and your previous posts have helped me realize the importance of rest. Since last summer, I’ve successfully implemented your principles in my life and I’m grateful. However, I have a question. How can young people achieve this rest if they’re working hard to make ends meet? I’m 61 years old and I now work part time which affords me time to rest. You mentioned your mom still works hard and my question to you is, in black families, does someone have to make the sacrifice by working hard and attaining some level of provision such as home ownership so the young generation can rest?

I was just wondering, if your mom was just resting when she was your age, would you have someone to stay with right now? I’m hella anti-work, slave system but I’m trying to figure out when it’s time to rest and when you gotta lay down a foundation to survive.

I completely understand your question. At my age my mom was single and childless. She wasn't as overwhelmed and overworked as she is right now. So, I'm not sure. But if she was able to rest now, she would probably be way healthier. And I believe God would provide... Because He always did/does. She lived with her family til she was in her late 20s. This helps. And that is what I want for my mom more than anything. I've lived on my own, in cars and in rvs. I'd be good. 💛☺️

Thank you for this. Resting is my only goal for 2023. This is the first year that my goal/resolution is to have zero goals. I just need to rest. I just need to take care of me because I've been being that 'strong black woman' taking care of everybody else ... Helping everybody else and I realized NOBODY is looking out for me so everyone else will be on the back burner in 2023. For the whole year I'll be in my hammock with a good book and saying NO to everyone who ain't me. #restandbeblessed

Being the best me, loving as genuinely and as passionately as I can, and by showing that I am who I am, and that that is good enough. Rest dear sister! The world will be there when you return. Best to you!!

siiiiisss! Your videos never miss. I hit a point of exhaustion right at the end of 2022. And I felt like God was calling me to rest and heal. So I took action and for the first two weeks of January, I'm resting! It's crazy how hard it is to rest when you've made your life about producing. I'm reading this book right now it's called Buoyant, and it's meeting me right where I'm at. It's so good! I didn't realize how incredibly burnt out I was, and how all the things that were once creative outlets now feel like obligations. I'm excited to create for me in this time, I just started your video and I can't wait to continue. Bless you, on your journey. May you heal, rest, and recover.❤🙏🙌
