If you had told me Patty's vocals were that great, I'd have believed you (I know damn well how good she is with a hurdy gurdy. Its in her name and rightfully so) If you had told me she was going to do said vocals with Alestorm, well she knows the guys and I try not underestimate her. If you had told me that Alestorm could write something this great, well they started off semi seriously and are awesome musicians. I know this. I was not prepared for Christopher singing harmonies with Patty and doing it very well indeed. We are not worthy! Great reaction!

You know, she has this effect on bands. My favorite Fiddlers Green song is with her and now my favorite Alestorm song too. They're both great bands on their own, but she has a talent for bringing out the best in them.

that Patty worked with Alestorm wasnt that surprising, afterall had they worked together several times allready and even performed live together ,what surprised me most was that amount singing time she got on the song ,after all its only a guest performance , but it fitted the song verry well ,

This was amazing... I can not explain it, but I was already excited at the inclusion of a hurdy gurdy to their sound. Then she began to sing and it reached a whole different level. I hope this collaboration is not just a one off thing.

I guess you just experienced what I like to say: You never know what you are going to get when Patty is involved in a project. :D In this case, afaik Patty was for the first time involved in the songwriting - she has a history of working with Alestorm before as a guest-musician with her hurdy-gurdy (on the last two Alestorm-albums) and also once with her singing (Zombies ate my pirate ship). She will also accompany Alestorm for the upcoming UK-tour and they announced that all songs she has a part of will be played. I guess, they will also perform "Fucked with an anchor" together as that was done on three gigs last year (Hamburg, Bochum, Eindhoven), when they were on stage together for the first time ever.

I so love this song. I am a huge fan of anything with a hurdy gurdy but I also loved Patty's voice here. It fits the song perfectly. I always have loved Alestorm's frat boy vibe but I love that this is just a straight forward banger that shows their incredible musicianship which I have always appreciated. It takes real skill to be fun and not be cheesy.

Nightwistorm don't exist. Alestorm & Patty: hold ours symphonic pirate metal. I'm going fucking crazy about this song and it's always a pleasure see your reactions even if it's only my first comment! EDIT: doing that while wearing a kilt, a baseball hat, a fluo green shorts and a grogu t-shirt it's even more epic. EDIT N.2 : ( I have to stop commenting while still watching ) absolutely agree with the final part of your reactions! Isn't simple being silly, as Italian, I saw multiple times Nanowar live and they're really smart people! And I'm sheding a tear of joy for "my" beloved Alestorm, they deserve all the honors! And I'm also jiggling listening you talking about all my favourite bands LOL ( Alestorm, Nanowar and Feuerschwanz, love them so much )

normally I'd expect an Alestorm song to be somewhere between an 8 out of 10 up to an 11 out of 10 on the really good stuff- by that metric this was at least a 14 out of 10... either that or I need to set my standards a bit higher

I heard another comedy music artist say it best- for comedy music to last, the musical talent needs to be top notch because the music being bad as a joke gets really old, really quickly (and/or just distracts from the humour in the lyrics)
