Want to SCALE your business? Go here: acquisition.com
Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbitl in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

"You can feel terrible and still win" I felt that one. I don't think I'm winning yet, still a lot of ground to cover. But I've been dealing with the most fucked up depression over the past few years yet I've still managed to start my business, hire some good people, retain those people, steadily outpace our monthly volume month after month. My family is good, I'm spending quality time with my wife and kids. I'm still working on feeling better but those accomplishments are helping.

@@chekz3520 Exactly! It's about how you manage it. I don't know if you've ever listened to Ed Mylett's podcast. It's his first episode "Morning rituals". He describes that instead of discipline, we need good habits. He says discipline is a fallacy in that sense that we can't always realt on discipline and we should first and foremost have good habits that we can all fall back on. And that is what I hear you say, and it seems to have served you well brother. So good for you, I'm really happy that you have found a way to keep going at it. And as you say, accompliments is what keeps you on the right track. So, I would say from what I hear is that you will be less and less depressed and hopefully not at all the more you persue your goals, as long as you've persuing the right goals for you. If someday on the way you realize you are persuing the wrong goals, you now know how to keep going forward and all you have to do is just redirect from where you are. You are successful, and you will be even more successful as you proceed. Congratulations brother, I salute you💪 Keep maxing out 💯

My grandfather (who is no longer alive) left me a few quotes that I have stuck to. 1) "The world will never stop being the world." 2) "Life is beautiful. You just have to know how to live it." and 3) "Don't be lazy. Work hard." They are simple yet profound. He raised 10 kids, worked in a factory, immigrated his children legally from a small village in Mexico into the US during the 1960s. He owned a car, 3 properties, and had the love and adoration of his children and grandchildren. I still sing about him to this day. As the Holy Bible says "Your reputation is more precious than jewels and rubies." And "Wisdom is nourishing to the soul like a good meal."

From my experience, I am a senior in highschool and although these kids are not completely weak, they could be way stronger. If your son is a male I advise that you reward this kid for doing physical challenges. What I am saying is please make sure your kid is active and strong. One thing I wish my dad would do is actually assist me in fitness and strength. Promote your son when he is older to go to the gym, do sports and have a fun time doing so please. Alex's nitty-gritty breakdowns of how the mechanics of charisma and other behaviors work is SO helpful. I wasn't socialized well as a kid, am possibly on the Autism spectrum, and no one ever told me how to break these behaviors down and understand what concepts like "charisma" entailed so I could learn them. This is the content I live for because I can actually use it, instead of other people's content which starts a step or two down the road from where I'm at.

At times people think I am outgoing and extrovert. They think it comes easy to me. It wasn't but now I know how it feels to change and love what I do. My desire to be successful in what I do, is stronger than my fear to do the things that I might not like to do because they are hard. I have seen it help me become a better person. First time seeing you, I have never seen or heard so many diamonds of information dropped so fast and so continually. I have read more self-help and psychology books than you can throw a stick at and you have revealed concepts I never thought of before in ways I've never heard before. If I had a podcast I would ask you how you realized each one of these things? Is it from employing people and watching what they do? Do you keep a journal and by re-reading them overtime you discovered bite-sized realizations of human habits? Today is my birthday and I am depressed I have a coach in my head who demands perfection. So even though I have been better this year than in years past I feel/felt unfulfilled. Started watching KZfaq videos on how to be more patient and the algorithm led me to you and you have led me to answers and behaviors I need to incorporate in my life and I thank you. It's December 27th 2023 and you are the best birthday present
