If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbitl in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

look Alex, you bring good content, no doubt. However it feels like you are keep repeating over and over the same vids without any real value but just to make more $ off KZfaq. I started Amazon FBA myself two years ago, I've achieved a monthly revenue of over 150k. Thing is , I've noticed that most influencers are keeping the real secrets to themselves. I understood this after reading an eBook. It's puzzling why no one discusses strategies such as outranking competitor listings, implementing effective off-page SEO, or gaining external traffic for greater exposure. Creating videos on these topics would greatly benefit your audience instead of BOMB titles and thumbnails with no real content.

Im assuming you mean how to get the "Best Sellers" badge on your listing? The best sellers badge is specific to each sub-category, you have to be selling the most amount of units on a daily basis within your sub-category to get the Best Sellers badge.

The problem with Alex is that he presents a paradigm where all businesses succeed if you put enough time and effort. That's simply disconnected from reality. Some markets are too saturated. Some demand is simply too small and/or decreasing over time. A lot of People struggle to keep their 1 single business running and even go into huge debt just to avoid closing it down. Where does that fit into what he says? Are they not "hardcore" enough? are they secretly diversifying? stuff to think about...

@@kdizzy07 when you walk down the bread isle how many different brands and styles of bread do you see? Over-saturation is a myth. When the storm comes that entire section is sold out. Well except for the organic rye flat bread. As long as your company isn’t the organic rye flat bread it will be ok. The reason businesses fail is they don’t sell enough fast enough. And that is 100% lack of marketing knowledge and strategy.

These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it.

All of this is gold. I’ve earned my way to 2m and it was rough. Same exact scenario as described on the whiteboard. The up, the down, the grind, the understanding, followed by the next goal. With focus on one thing. Now, my cup is overflowing. And now I’m starting another company. Just as he said that happens.. But this time. In building it even stronger then before. (Hence restyling this mind set and basic principles here. And I also have the expectations of the up and downs which won’t be as rough. Love this 👍🏼

He had props and structure and useful diagrams in this video. Was there storyboarding? Finding and setting up props that match the company colour palette? Different cuts? Editing? I needed this. I own a low voltage company and am somewhere in between that valley and informed optimism. I’m 29 owned the business for 3 years, got $220,000 gross last year and have definitely hit the valley on the last quarter. _A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for license advisors and came across someone of due diligence she helped a lot to grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $25k to approx $80k

Got my B.S. in Finance from the business school of Indiana U. and their MBA program is fairly reputable. This video alone is like a 63-minute Ph.D in business...way better than anything I learned in freakin 4 years. You have an uncanny ability to explain highly complex (and unnecessarily complicated business things) in a ridiculously simple way. Thank you caring about motivated humans.

This has actually given me renewed confidence in myself as an entrepreneur. After 2020 and a pregnancy simultaneously killed my very successful business that I built, Ive found myself a bit lost and hopeless. Recently I hit the "Informed Pessimism" stage on a new business idea and this video just blew that to bits and reminded me that I'm a shark and if I can build one 6 figure business, I can certainly do it again.
