Want to SCALE your business? Go here: acquisition.com
Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbitl in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

Crazy, I'm a lisenced residential builder/general contractor and certified personal trainer. I get up at 430 am every day and do cardio then eat then lift then work till 6. I'm in amazing shape for 33 years old all and I have 200$ to my name and 20,000 in debt. Can't seem to move forward no matter how hard I work. I blame myself for not having the consciousness when I was in my 20's to know how to take the next step. Thanks for the words brother

Wow, reading the first part of your comment I thought: "That's nice, both, the builder/contractor and the personal trainer are so useful and good [building, creating, helping others to be better while being in good shape yourself]. I hope you can turn things more your way, man, because you definitely got it, and I bet, the puzzle that is missing or is misplaced is small enough, that when you find what it is, you will thrive. Simply - the second part of the comment does not match the first. I once bumped on a cool question : "What would you do, if you were not scared?" All the best x

You definitely have the base needed to thrive and a lot of time to get where you want to be! I spent my life successfully building and being part of championship football programs volunteering coaching/training athletes! We are all definitely born with the ability to become me as Great as the GREATEST to ever live! We must understand these two simple facts.:1) Understand You have the ability to achieve maximum Greatness at EVERYTHING you desire. 2) You must aquire the plan and skills necessary to achieve Greatness. Compete to be the very best because the majority will NEVER do this. Live your life as if there's absolutely nobody here to help you EXCEPT YOURSELF!!! Having a raw video is my preferred format from Alex, because he looks more transparent and real than ever, I can deeply connect with his life story and his teachings. You're doing a great job. Thank you so much for this video, Alex. I’m tired of hearing how I should be able to ‘accomplish this in 1 month’ because somebody got lucky and did it. It’s encouraging to hear the struggle that preceded your success. Every day I put my nose down to work on my side hustles, then I go to work, I make food, sleep, repeat. I feel like I’m going nowhere and I’m sacrificing all the things people my age are ‘supposed to be’ doing so I have a hope for my family not being broke forever. I appreciate your realness.

The foundational step you talk about is what I've seen so many times with people I used to work with at my warehouse job. They always go out of their way to blame others for how their lives are turning out. I saw the same thing in my dad. When he was sick of working a job he would start a fight with the rowdiest coworker and get fired so he could come home and tell my mom that it was out of his control. And now as I am an adult, I just realized that I am falling into that same trap. That as shit falls apart around me, I try to use that as fuel to not have to take responsibility that I am getting older and my situation isn't changing for the better. Thank you for putting out this video, Alex. This shit is something I really needed to hear.

Hey Alex ✌ thank you for posting these contents oftenly. I everyday open youtube and looking for your new videos 😄. I came US 7 years ago after going through war, chaos, poverty back in my country as a last hope of my entire family with 0 money. And I didn't started everything from zero but way below the zero without knowing english or anybody here. Had no choice, 7 hopeless family members back home but big dream and will. Last 7 years went though the hell for them working all the hard sh*tty jobs not most men would do. I adapted environment in US by educating myself learning everyday smth to achieve my goals. With no money I tried many businesses from scratch and failed most of them. Maybe couldnt save big money but saved my whole family from tragedy and gained tons of knowledges, life experience. Now I m still building, learning, fighting everyday for the PURPOSE. Long story short I think in this beautiful country all you need purpose and little bit english to achieve everything 🫡 Please keep making these videos it helps me type of the people a lot 🙌

True vulnerability and honesty will alway reign above most YT advice videos promising cookie cutter recipes. I really was captured by this episode, and I saw myself in the pain I’ve endured while not making *any* money and relying on others to survive for mere basics. This episode was a breath of fresh air i needed, to become more real with myself than I have been lately. Thank you dear Alex ❤ I’m going to step up my game. My life fkn needs me to. ⏳⌛️

Taking responsibility for your circumstances is key to making progress and moving forward. I particularly liked how you highlighted the importance of leveraging current resources instead of waiting for perfect conditions, providing me with a practical and actionable strategy to start making changes. I appreciated the practical approach of using existing resources rather than waiting for the perfect moment, offering a clear path towards progress!

I am in a struggle to lease the largest ranch in southern California. The ranch has been overgrazied for 30 years to line the pockects of the rich. Currently i live in a tent. I have nothing left to loose. Embrace being broke. Take a frown and turn it around. Just dont stop, even if the cards are agaist you and you stand alone. Gods speed to all.

I like him, but to be honest the real reason I became a millionaire was tony Robbins. Tony robbins kept saying success leaves clues, and than inspired me to understand that the products that made money are there for the whole world to see because they have a lot of reviews. Just start doing hard shit, as Goggins would put it "uncommon among uncommon people". We must start from the bottom. If your friends aren't saying " why would you do that to yourself!?" "That's so hard I could never". " why would you get up so early to gym! It's a waste of time" Just them projecting the insecurity inside themselves. Don't be like them

Reverse engineer what does your dream life look like? From 18 to 28 the answer to that is probably going to change every year, but do it anyway. Then work backwards to see what actions you’d have to do to have that dream life. Then read $100M offers, $100M leads, and listen to Hormozi’s longer format sales videos(if your dream life entails you being a business owner and making a lot of money)
