India is celebrating its 76th independence day as well as 76 years of independence on 15th August 2023. The history of Indian independence cannot be completed without the story of British colonialism in India. This video explains how India become a British colony. The story starts with the arrival of the English East India Company and their expansion over Indian territories. This video mainly focuses on the annexation policies followed by the East India Company through wars and policies like the subsidiary alliance, doctrine of lapse and the doctrine of misgovernence. The transformation of power from the Company to the British crown is also discussed.

സ്കൂളിൽ പഠിക്കുന്ന കാലത്ത് ഈ ചരിത്രമൊക്കെ പാഠപുസ്തകത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.പക്ഷേ അന്നൊക്കെ ടീച്ചർ ഈ പാഠ പദ്ധതികൾ എടുക്കുമ്പോൾ ബോറടിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.പക്ഷേ താങ്കളുടെ അവതരണം ഓരോ സെക്കൻഡും നമ്മളെ ഇതിൻറെ മുന്നിൽ പിടിച്ചിരുത്തുന്നു .well done Alex chettaaa 👏.

വളരെ നല്ല വിവരണം. ഒരു കാര്യത്തിൽ മാത്രം ചെറിയ വിയോജിപ്പുണ്ട്. ഈസ്റ്റ് ഇന്ത്യാ കമ്പനി കച്ചവടം നടത്തിയിരുന്ന കാലത്ത് ഇന്ത്യൻ കർഷകരെയും തൊഴിലാളികളെയും എന്ന പോലെ തന്നെ ബ്രിട്ടനിലെ സാധാരണ ജനങ്ങളെയും ചൂഷണം ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. ഇവിടെ നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്ന ഉൽപ്പന്നങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം തന്നെ കൊള്ള ലാഭത്തിനാണ് ബ്രിട്ടനിലെ വിപണികളിൽ വിൽപ്പന നടത്തിയിരുന്നത്. ശശി തരൂരിന്റെ An era of darkness എന്ന ബുക്കിൽ ഇത് പരാമർശിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.

കൊള്ള ലാഭം എന്നത് കൊണ്ട് ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നത് അത്രയും വിലപിടിപ്പുള്ളത് കൊണ്ടുപോകുമ്പോയാണ്... എന്നാൽ പരുത്തി പോലുള്ള അത്രത്തോളം ലാഭത്തിന് ബ്രിട്ടനിൽ ചെന്ന് വിൽക്കാൻ പറ്റില്ല... എന്നാൽ തിരിച്ചു clothes ആയി ഇന്ത്യയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നപ്പോൾ മികച്ച ലാഭത്തിന് വിറ്റു...

1756 ല് സിറാജ് ഉദ് ഡൗള കൊൽക്കത്തയിലെ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ആധിപത്യത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഒരു കോട്ട പിടിച്ചു എടുതത്തോട് കൂടെ ആണ് പ്ലാസി യുദ്ധത്തിൻ്റെ തുടക്കം...1757 ല് സിറാജ് ഉദ് ദൗള ഫ്രഞ്ച് സഹായത്തോടെ ബ്രിട്ടനെ ആക്രമിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി...പക്ഷേ സിറാജിൻ്റെ സേനതലവൻ ആയ മിർ ജഫാർ ബ്രിടിഷ്‌കരോട് കൂടെ ചേർന്ന് യുദ്ധ സമയത്ത് സനികരെ പിൻവലിച്ചു അതോടെ സിറാജ് yudathil പരാജയപ്പെട്ടു sirajine വധിക്കുകയും mir ജഫാരെ puthiya നവാബ് ayit avarodikkuayum ചെയ്ത്....പക്ഷേ mir ജാഫാർ ബ്രിട്ടൻ്റെ കളി പാവ ആയിരുന്നു ....mir jaffere britan പുറത്ത് അക്കി mir qasimine nabab akki..... ഖാസിം um britaninte kali pava mathram ആയിരുന്നു...mir ഖാസിം ith മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയും ബ്രിട്ടന് എതിരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചു 1764 ഉൾ ബ്രിട്ടന് എതിരെ യുദ്ധം നടത്തി ഇതിനെ ബക്സർ യുദ്ധം എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെട്ടു ഈ യുദ്ധതോട് കൂടി ബംഗാൾ മുഴുവനും നേരിട്ട് ബ്രിട്ടൺ ഭരിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി...!

സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം 🇮🇳 AD1200 കളിൽ നഷ്ട്ടപ്പെട്ട്ട താണ്.. തുർക്കി, ഇറാൻ, ഉസ്ബേക്, അഫ്ഗാൻ ഇവർക്കു ശേഷം ബ്രിട്ടൻ..എന്നെ ഉള്ളൂ.. എന്തായാലും 1947 ഇൽ നമ്മൾ അത് നേടി... 🇮🇳

Also please try to understand the fact that, tipu sultan had conquered malabar after defeating the malabar ruler (zamorin ?) and have moved further down to capture travancore. Travancore army has restricted the downward movement through its nedumkotta line. Travancore made the subsidiary alliance with east india company and the company attack on mysore caused the retreat of tipu to mysore thus saving travancorre kingdom which otherwise would have been attacked. Tipu"s army caused immense destruction to the people in the annexed areas. People where divided on religious lines and massacre and forced conversions where carried out. Many hindu family from malabar has migrated and settled in the travancore area as the effect of this barbaric act....

Alexplain well explained. Most of the peoples (including me) does not aware of this history, we had learned some of the history in school and college for exam purpose. After your explanation I fully understood behind the scenes how British conquered Indian colony through their strategy and exploiting / influencing with Indian local kings / rulers. Most of Indian Kings were so selfish and they had surrendered in front of East India Company / British Govt. for their majesty and power. British Govt. well understand what is Indian local rulers weakness and accordingly they applied tactics by attacking physically and intellectually to achieve their target. Finally they won and pillaged trillions of Indian assets and wealth. Only few numbers of rulers (such as Hyder & Tippu Sultan) opposed & blocked British attacks and they fought until their end and they sacrificed & gave their life for the country. Jaihind. This episode is most relevant considering for coming Independence Day. Thank you for sharing this valuable information. Waiting for the continuation of this episode.
