Ever wonder how the shipyards do barnicle removal? Here in South Florida one of the major shipyards on the Miami river is hurricane Marina. I was lucky enough to see them do the entire process of how to remove barnacles when they are so extreme.

It is amaizing how this kind of plague affects vessel's performance, both in speed reduction and fuel cunsumption increese. It also depends on the anti fouling hull painting applied, either for fresh or salt water, for cold or warm zones. If it is an improper anti fouling, barnacles or mussels will grow few weeks. And to blast the hull, must use protective glasses, wich is not the presente case.

He said 4200 rpm, I think he meant PSI, my cheap electric harbor freight pressure washer is 1750 psi. The average gas powered pressure washer is 2500 to 3500 psi, so the one they have is a beast at 4200.

@@maxzeus5574 Actually turtles can control the growth of barnacles on their shells. Barnacles aren't harmful since they're not parasitic. Barnacles just uses a host to move while they eat planktons. Fresh water pre conditioning helps. Fresh water kills sea growth on contact. There's a fresh water lake in Panama we used to flush out our fire-mains on a Cruiser with. Didn't get it all but we cleaned out a lot of muck that came from the Kennebec river near Bath Maine.

That looks like a job for a 4500# machine or more! The more pressure done correctly the farther back the gun can be and make a wider fan pattern. Speeds up the job while still getting it clean. Really hate it when they skate over the job. The local marina won't let you do your own but they never have any help that does a decent job. Very frustrating as we used to be able to do our own and take all the necessary time to get it done right. Now they blast through it and don't even do the strap area or the blocking areas much less clean the hull properly.
