I made my first one yesterday but used big ribbon. It is an average vape compared to the helix corrugated framed staples that is normally my go to but because I made it myself it tastes soooo good lmao! I'm very proud of it. I have the confidence to try some more ribbons because of your video. Thank you very much and I hope you have a good day!

Great tips, I started with 6-8 stacks and it was overwhelming and was very frustrating so learning with lesser is a good idea. Eventually got it but I must've wasted 1k feet of ribbon wire. But live and learn I guess, the positive is I can make the 8-10 stacks easier since I started with such a hard amount. Love the positivity and good vibes man, vape community is truly one of a kind. Keep rocking those builds brother!

Fantastic little simple build. Just what I needed. I haven't been in this very long but have been struggling with some of the larger bills. But I'll keep going. I think it helped that I was a jeweler for 35 years. nice videos by the way. I would like to see some of the more complicated builds actually on a device and fired up like the corrugated fused framed Clapton never seen one fire. Thanks for the videos and keep making them. I always use the swivel method for framed staples and staple staggered fused clapton builds after watching SQUIDOODE tutorials. I recently started using medical tape instead of masking tape to get a tight bond on the ribbon and frames.

That's awesome and nice tutorial!! I need to start getting more proactive with the drill and trying to make these coils. I did manage to make a fused clapton but I made it with 22g x 2 and wrapped it with 32g and one coil ohms out super low and dual ohms out around .08. But my favorite coils to date that I've tried have been aliens for flavor but at the same time I haven't tried many more of the exotic builds so can't compare them to other great builds out there.
@SherlockHohms
@SherlockHohms 7 жыл бұрын
mikenite69 Keep at it, everyone starts somewhere. Try making the fused claptons with 24g kanthal and 34. 34 isn't as hard to work with as 36 and still give you extra flavor. I have links in the description to wire on eBay. There are some awesome multi packs, you can get everything you need to start experimenting with different builds. Keep on building!

Hi there. I have a 150w Sigelei tc mod I want it to read over .1ohm between 1.5-2.5 ohms. I have 36g ss 316L, 26g ss 316L and .5 ss 316L ribbon. My rta that I’m using it the Azeroth rta. I want to be able to do it with a 3mm bit and maybe 5-7 wraps. Can you tell me how much wraps or size of drill bit I should use to reach my desired range for my mod to fire? Thanks man and nice videos like always!

Hey sherlock. I'm about to start building coils for the first time (I did a lot of research and put my vape room together first ) but I do have one question . Might sound kind of dumb . But is ribbon wire the only kind of wire or what should I be looking for when buying wire (other than gauge of course ). Thanks in advance ! P.s. love your videos! I've been watching you since I first started vaping back in January, and your tutorials gave me the courage to actually do this building thing ! So thank you!

Very cool,so there's no stretching or straightening needed for ribbon wire right? And you can purchase diff gauge ribbon that's ready to go off the spool? So u folded a ribbon perfectly lined up and your outer wire was 26g n80 straight wire? So technically you use 2 ribbon cores n an outer wrap ?I thought the ribbon goes on the outter wrap no? You lost me a bit on staples but I've done a few dual core claptons thanks to you.Thnx for any clearing up of these questions,qauges again please 🙏

Hi SherlockWhat's the black thing you use that goes through the spool? I have a problem with maintaining a constant pressure when I'm holding the spool. My pressure either loosens or tightens as my concentration is focused elsewhere. I'm thinking what you're using could help. Thanks in advance,Dave
@SherlockHohms
@SherlockHohms 7 жыл бұрын
David D it depends on the size of the spool. My 36g spool is massive because it's a 5000'. But for normal spools I use 2 510 drip tips. They fit perfectly and save your fingers

Tommy if you having troubles wrapping the ribbon it's probably because it's not stacked good. Ribbon can be a pain when first using it. Use 38 or a higher gauge and put a couple wraps down the middle to hold it all together. When your wrapping just slide the core holders down as you go. When you get to core holder slide it a inch or two then wrap and repeat till you're done.

Having uniform spaces in your Claptons is very important. I use the button technique (thanks to coil Mother Fudger for sharing) which I find gives me consistent results. 26 gauge space wrapped in 34/36 gauge and full fused with 38 gauge in the spaces.
@SherlockHohms
@SherlockHohms 7 жыл бұрын
Peter Silva The biggest tip I can give you right now is be extremely careful when handling the spaces clapton rods. If they get squished or pulled (causing bigger spacing) they won't line up. After you make the spaced clapton handle them gentle when you take them off the drill and swivel, and ever more so when re attaching them to wrap them. As long as the spacing is lined up properly when setting the rod, it should stay that way. GO SLOW, Take your time, and keep at it. I'll do a video as soon as I can.

No disrespect, however, this is not remotely beginner friendly. You're working close to your body, blocking the view of the camera. And since the camera cant see what you're doing, I, the viewer cant see what you're doing. So when you say "slide this into this" or "pinch here and here" I can only assume what you mean. I loved the first 3 videos because of camera view showing what you were doing. There were no obstructions. This video is for the birds. If you must work so close to the body, deposition yourself so your block vice thing with the swivels can be viewed clearly. Or zoom in so we can see better.
