Lowkey I was gonna join the Navy because I always thought the uniforms were badass and wanted to command a ship one day 😂 joined the army instead because I like playing in the dirt too much, but Navy will always be my second favorite 🇺🇸🇺🇸

What a great way to showcase Navy uniforms! This should be used as a recruiting video. I think the Navy finally got it right with enlisted uniforms - function, durability and dignity while maintaining a connection to tradition with the dress blues and whites. You are a squared away sailor, Petty Officer Belalcazar, a credit to the Navy. Thank you for your service!! (former USN, 1985-1993).

As someone who is also in, I initially questioned why on earth you would willing do this lookbook. After watching the well put together video I understood that there is a need for this. For anyone who was about to join or thinking of joining, this solves their curiosity of the uniforms. So job well done.

Sometimes I think they change just for the sake of changing. I was in the Navy for 20 years and I can't remember how many uniform changes I saw. Some seemef to make some sense, but there also seemed to be several that were pointless. For example, I remember them going from the dixie cup white hats and jumper style dress uniforms, to the coat and tie with the combination cover, then back to the jumpers again. The coat and tie didn't seem well thought out since the jumper style uniform was designed so that it could be folded and stowed neatly in a locker onboard a ship where space is at a premium.

My uniforms were dungarees with ballcap, whites and blues with combination cap. Cracker jacks were phased out, then back in as optional. '74 - '82.

As an old sailor myself I've got a big smile right now. Looking smart and nicely done. Be careful with the neckerchief on the jumper that your v doesn't show but a very nice tie on the knot. Super impressed with the surface and air warfare pins well done sailor. Now go get another NAM and a NCM. You got this.

It trips me out seeing females in CrackerJacks and the dog bowl. I went through so many uniform changes during my time, started in the old dungarees and ended with I think the coveralls. I was greenside so I never wore navy uniforms lol. Keep up the good work Shipmate

Looking sharp Petty Officer. I joined the U.S. Coast Guard back in Sept 1980. Back then we used to follow the Navy in various way, for example our working uniform was navy blue, but we could wear the navy dungaree uniform until Dec 31st, 1980. The only uniform issued item I used to hate was the boondockers boots, they were a magnet for all type of debris that will fall into the boot. So I bought a pair of marine's boots immediately. Fair winds and following seas sister in arms, stay safe. Best regards from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I am a Navy vet from the 80's. I miss my woolen dress blues with skirt and pumps. I am surprised the Navy is looking so Marine. They look really good on you though. I tell you what, nothing makes you have stamina than standing at parade rest for inspection while wearing pumps.😂😂

is it worth tailoring dress whites? I've lost some weight and still have the same pair i received since boot camp and want mine to be somewhat form fitting, obviously not tight or anything like that, but enough to make me feel like a woman still rather than a giant white box especially since we really only wear them for special/formal occasions if not just uniform inspections.

Tbh the dress whites and blues fit boxy no matter what, it’s not flattering at all no matter what your natural body type is. I would just buy a new top that’s more form fitting or just go to the nex and try a couple on just to see what size you prefer. I feel like in bootcamp they fit you with huge uniforms on purpose lol
