Does using manual brakes require a lot more input from the driver to achieve the same amount of braking force? I imagine it would have to but is it a significant amount?

Typically it's because people have added a big camshaft or Turbo which both lower the engine vacuum to where it's not enough to efficiently operate the power brake booster

Will the factory brake light switch work with this kit?

Yes because the paddle at rest static is in the same position....and that's when/where it makes contact with the Brake light switch

Why not tap the allen bolt holes? That way you could service the master cylinder without removing the plate.

Plate is not thick enough to properly torque it if so
