Thank you for sharing guys. My first ever car/truck was a 1993 s10. I payed 10 grand cash for it at the age of 15. I would mow yards and saved all the cash I made to buy a truck. Thanks for sharing with us. God Bless.

Forever waitin on Doug to come out with a 88-94 obs Chevy lightweight race column!!! I wish there was more to offer as far as direct bolt in parts for those trucks. like manual steering conversion & manual brakes. I ended up making my own manual brake setup deal but I still got power steering.. I’d like to do away with it. ideally I’d rather have just alternator only being driven by the belt. cause I plan on going electric water pump

Can anyone tell me exactly what the benefits would be with manual brakes vs power brakes? Im building a 94 s10 thats for the streets but its a corner carver. I have been shopping around for a new master cylinder as mine needs to be replaced. Im running a wilwood proportional valve to eliminate the abs. Would manual brakes work better?
@BigNastyOffroad3 жыл бұрын
Is the engine modified? The biggest reason to go to manual brakes is if you are running an aggressive camshaft or boost( ie turbo or blower). Engine vacuum is diminished with turbo/blower or aggressive camshafts.
@mjrartist693 жыл бұрын
@@BigNastyOffroad the engines gonna be fully built stroked LS. Forged internals. Very mild camshaft though not much chop to it to keep it quiet and tame. My guess with the displacement 550ish horsepower give or take. All motor for now. Big 6 piston front brakes with 14 in rotors up front not sure if that matters.
@BigNastyOffroad3 жыл бұрын
I would say that I have seen people stay with power brakes in some S10 pick ups for roadcourse use and have not had problems especially with the brake upgrades you've already done. I have a 91 ext cab 2wd S10 working on collecting the parts for the drivetrain right now. I am going for a street/strip setup and if I can't build the vacuum for power brakes there is always a vacuum pump. The assist with power brakes is nice for a street driven truck but pure track driving manual with big brakes all day
@mjrartist693 жыл бұрын
@@BigNastyOffroad thank you much appreciated. Im switching to disc brakes in the rear and wasn’t sure what i should use for the master cylinder already needs to be replaced as it leaks anyway.
@nickgrillo48303 жыл бұрын
@@mjrartist69 manual has better pedal feel and always feels the same so your braking is more consistent. Power is fine if you don’t care about all that and just want the easiest possible braking

Do you have one for the 85 s10
@MotionRaceworksOfficial3 жыл бұрын
No we only have 88 and up at this time.
@BigNastyOffroad3 жыл бұрын
It was said in the video 94 and up s- series. With a stiffening plate and some careful measurements it can be done on the 82-93 s-series. I would definitely suggest aftermarket disk all the way around to improve stopping power if you are going to manual brakes though.

And now you don't have a brake light switch.
@MotionRaceworksOfficial3 жыл бұрын
There are a lot of options for making that easy. In our door car brake kit, the proportioning valve has a built in sensor that is pressure actuated
@andyclark36112 жыл бұрын
@@MotionRaceworksOfficial a few questions. When swapping from power to your manual kit do you need to use proportion valve? Also after I installed the manual master cylinder when I stand on brakes hard it cause them to stick for awhile then release on their own after a few minutes. Do I need to adjust pedal rod to fix that?
