ML Drums Grit is an expansion pack for ML Sound Lab's modular drum sampler platform which adds a huge sounding full drum kit. The samples were recorded through rare analog hardware chains at Finnvox B-Studio (Helsinki) during the recordings of the upcoming "Blind Channel - EXIT EMOTIONS" album. The drums were recorded with some of the most sought after mics, Neve 1073s/1081s, Pultec and API EQs and the UREI 1178.
ML Drums Grit is based on:
-Gretsch™ Bell Brass 14"x6.5" Snare
-Pearl™ Masters 22" Kick
-Gretsch™ Drop G (1979 - 1981) 13", 16" & 18" Toms
-Zildjian™ A-Custom Cymbals: 14" Hihat, 18", 19" & 20" Crashes and an Ultra-Hammered 19" China.

Cheers to Brazil!! I actually have not done a mix run-through but now that you mentioned it this would be a perfect chance. I think I didn't really do any of my normal stuff for the vocals as I'm using a completely new mic. I've always used an SM7B but this time I'm using the Sony C-80 which is what I use for capturing my voice for the videos and I'd likely need to learn it a little bit better. Honestly I just tried the new free Waves Silk plugin and I think it's on all the vocals. Tape echo... but hey a run-through of the entire mix would be awesome.

Hahahaha.. honestly processing vocals is super complicated and so much of it is fixed by knowing how to record well. Maybe one day?

That snare sounds really really good. It's really cool to hear full mix featuring what you do with vocals and all. What was the vocal chain like?

Thank you so much!! That snare room is so amazing sounding. 😊 The vocal chain was actually quite random here. I compressed hard with CLA-76 hard. The new Waves Silk plugin came out around the time I tracked this so it did the heavy lifting here. Also I used the Arturia Space Echo plugin for lofi drive sounds and the delay trails. Really loving the retro vibe of it.

Even though I had read those lyrics at least a dozen times - I'm still almost breaking in those vocal takes during "music nerds" / "distorted guitars" / "thump of the bass". 😂😂

It is not bad song. In fact very refreshing after listening to zylion of songs about love etc... So next step please share the tracks to let people maybe replace vocals (my apology ;) and maybe some remixing or enhancing :) Maybe even some remix/production contest with awards of ML products ;)

It's very much cringe for me at least and purposefully so! 🤣This is entertainment so let's go all in. I try to know a little bit of everything but that just means I'm the master of none of the things, that's the tradeoff.
