Man those drums are really cool! CLA-2A is just perfect for almost everything, love on vocals and bass. Marshall + Gibson is the perfect match! 50's and 60's les pauls are the best!

About midi programmging drums, i often program drums by singing the kick&snare and the HH if the tempo i have in mind is not too fast. All on one a single mono track. I dont use a clic, i dont set the project to the tempo i have in mind and i dont even get the guitar off my lap. When i'm done doing my " toooo , tsshh-tshh-tshh, taaaah, tooo-too, tahhh" i have a serie of macro keyboard shortcut that process my drum singing and daw session to: 1) convert audio to midi that output to a drum vst 2) detect tempo and set the daw according to the tempo of beat 3) quantize my drum singing to grid 4) put the whole arrengement so the drums starts at the begining of a bar 5) trim the recorded event and so on. I do not use all the macros if i am just adding more parts halfway through a composition. It sounds alot of trouble but it is a very easy and fast workflow (in Studio One or Ableton anyway).

How are you using the ML drums are you doing midi triggering or are you just replacing the sounds with the ML drums by bussing out each of the tracks.

That drumkit that I'm using is an ekit so it sends midi notes to ML Drums. Very simple and easy! :)

THOSE VOCALS AREN'T THAT BAD you should hear some of the crap I come out with you'd delete my ML Sound Lab licenses if you knew what I got up to with them... On a related note I just found out I need that ML800. Gonna treat myself for the weekend.

Aww thank you so much.. singing is such a ego thing both in a good and bad way - really it doesn't take too many negative comments until you feel like never singing again because you can't just go buy yourself a new voice. What you sound like is what you sound like. :D

Hi Miko, does the snare in the Grit pack, have different tunings like the other packs? Thanks

Unlike the other packs, Grit doesn't have multiple tunings for the snare, and in a similar vein, it also doesn't have different kick mics/setups. Grit was recorded at Finnvox Studios in the session for Blind Channel's latest album - everything in the ML Drums plugin is as the kit was set up for the album. -Kai

About bass libraries: my option is that it sounds bad. That said during the creative process, i often play/record bass lines with my guitar -> macro shortcut audio to midi -> cheap bass vst. When i am done composing i record a real bass. héhé

I've done that trick too! I will either do that or record the bassline in with my MIDI controller - that side of it is super fast, but humanising it and getting it to sound real takes so much longer than just picking up a real bass. -Kai

Download the latest ML Drums Free from our site and run the installer, it'll automatically update everything to 2.3.0 and Grit will work for you! 🙏 -Kai
