haki affects every devil fruit user, not just logia types. the reason why its more mention against logia types is because logia users cant be affected by normal attacks (excluding natural "enemy" types, ex: enel fruit not working cause of luffy's fruit) PS: actually logia users have to turn their bodies into their fruit element before becoming imune to normal attacks, so theoretically normal attacks can hurt logia types however its pretty easy for them to avoid this

With a Haki user being able to make any sword a black sword temporarily, would that mean that a swordsmith could potentially use Haki throughout the smithing process of some of the highest class swords? And therefore making the armament Haki permanent?

It's really sad, at the end of WWII lots of swords were confiscated from families that held them for generations and famous katanas ended up on the black market and Missing.

I like to think of it as more of a tier list S rank (Saijo O-Wazamono)- 12 total blades A rank (O-Wazamono)- 21 total blades B rank (Ryu-Wazomono)- 50 total blades C rank (Wazamono)- unspecified amount of blades Ungraded (Un-named blades)- all other un-named blades seen in the series, all weapons do not have meito grades. Yes im saying "blades" instead of swords because we found out in a vivre card that whitebeards Bisento (spear looking blade) is actually a Saijo-O-Wazomono (S rank) so the ranks do not only encompass swords but it seems like it encompasses all bladed weapons.

@@cookiesareincenteroftheuni6971 I dont really see the connection you are making, talking strictly about the blades, they have grades based on how they were made. Blades dont move from one grade to another, there will always be 50 Ryu-Wazomono blades etc.

Wado Ichimonji is basically Zoro's straw hat. It's not going anywhere, but if it did, expect some hell to break loose. Also, how cool would it be if Kuina's father was the former world's strongest swordsmen but he stepped down and is now just living a humble life as the master of a small dojo after having a kid?

Ik I'm late and all but I just wanted to say that it isn't the swords themselves that are famous its the people who wield them. So if Zoro uses Wado when he fights Mihawk maybe the sword will elevate to the supreme grade ,but only Oda knows.

I liked it better in the old Conan comics. His son, Con, basically ran off to adventure on his own to be a badass. Conan was furious, and after years he tracked him down. And as Conan was reading him the riot act, he ended it with something like "look at yourself, Con. Look at all the scars this foolishnes left you with!" And Con says "There are none on my back." And Conan was like "Alright, lets hit the pub."

Shuusui is currently zoro best blade and also my favorite...its design is impeccable and it actually has an affect on his fighting style as noted wen you mentioned the oars fight, shuusui blends his flyin slashes together and there aint no cannon like a 1080 pound cannon

Durandal was Roland's sword , when he was ambushed by the sarasins he wanted to break it on a cliff so that the enemy couldn't get it , he cutted the cliff in two and the sword got stuck on another cliff nearby 60 feet off the ground . You can actually visit that place , it's called the gap of Roland , and Durandal is still there in the cliff

Hey Matt, thought I'd run an idea by ya, and this seems like the appropriate video to do so. It's regarding Zoro and his affinity to wield many katanas. What if, for his last sort of power up, he gains an ability to wield 4 blades instead of his usual 3? Like maybe he develops an ability similar to Kenshin Himura from Rurounin Kenshin did in his final move where Zoro does a twist on it. He puts one of his swords in his mouth from his left sheaths, tosses up the other two on the air, and draws the fourth one in an upward motion similar to Kenshin, but as he does that, flings that blade in the air, catches the two other two as they were coming down to do a swipe with the three blades and keeps juggling the blades like that until the opponent is dead? A continuous onslaught of katanas masterfully done to both confuse and kill his opponent. Do you think Oda would go for something like that? It's not necessarily out of character for Zoro, given that he is known for wielding many swords at once and it could always be a backup/final move for him.

I love One Piece and I'm entirely caught up with the manga, but I've been reading it over the course of like 7 years and I've obviously lost touch with some of the more subtle details, so I thoroughly enjoy these videos you make. They're fantastic. I'm on my second read through of the manga, but I'm buying the physical copies so it'll take some time. But these videos are great in the mean time.

i think Tashigi still uses her sword because her dream isn't to own all the swords, it's to save them from pirates, she says herself she has no interest in using them. It's to prove a point, she only wants the swords so that they're not owned by scum, not to have them, she'd probably give them away happily to a swordsman she deems 'worthy'

I just caught up with one piece this morning! started watching in February...so much binging. I don't want to read the manga because I don't want to have the anime spoiled for me. I think my favorite sword in the show is shusui, just cause I like the design. I like it more than mihawks sword, that sword just looks annoying to wield... I hope we get more into what having a cursed blade even means, cuz so far zoros just used his like normal...doesn't seem particularly cursed.

I'm the same, I've gotten really attached to the anime and the voice actors at this point. I tried reading the manga a few years ago and found the style of it was so messy and ugly, I could barely understand what was even happening in a panel. Only negative really is I wouldn't mind if they took a 3-6 month break in the anime for less fillers and better quality animation. Dressrosa drove me insane, nearly 8 minutes in before you're actually watching new content. =_=

As for the All 3 Kotetsu blades, I have the feeling that it's possible that Zoro's pure white blade could shatter at one point, maybe in his final showdown with the best swordsman at the end of the series (if it ever ends). I personally would agree with that ending, especially if he wins as his goal would be achieved and he doesn't have a reason to continue holding on to the past with the blade. He could also just hold the Kotetsu blades in his armoury as a backup in case he needs to pull them out at some point. Either way, I would like to see Zoro wield all 3 of the Kotetsu blades, even if not all at once.

I have a theory that we have already seen one of the Kitesus. One of the 5 elders owns it. It's the bald one. If you check the scenes he is in his sword has a hilt almost exactly like Kitesu 3's hilt. Go check it out

Whiteboards sword Murakumogiri is also one of the 12 Supreme grade swords as well as Ace which is Gol D. Rogers sword. I know this is an old video but I’d thought I’d keep everybody who didn’t know updated👍🏻😂
