I am in the U.S. and this movie also represented the neglect of our elderly here. We lost so many elderly and disabled humans due to them being considered not important. Jodie's performance just crushed me. Jodie deserved the BAFTA. Also I able to understand everything they are saying perfectly.

Care, like anything, has long become a pro-profit industry. Money optimized in all directions. Lowest wages, highest charges... You can become a multi multi millionaire by swapping virtual numbers on virtual bank accounts, but you can hardly make a living by helping fellow humans survive. What a f...k world we have created!

It’s incredible to look back 2 years.. Absolutely terrifying - the lack of PPE, the government live broadcasts, the warnings, staying at home, the infections, the attitudes and behaviours of the public. But now look. How we’ve all adapted to Covid and continuing as normal.. it’s literally as though none of it happened. Like a global bad dream.

I know jodie and Stephen won't see my comment but I need to say this was the most heart breaking thing I've ever seen I cried because my mum died in the care home seeing problems portrayed by other scousers just makes it even more powerful. I'm so proud to be a liverpudlian

Having worked through this it is spot on. It was terrifying and we had to try and keep a happy attitude for the guys we supported.

Thank you Jodie and to all those who were also involved in the making of this film. My grandmother passed away in her nursing home from covid in the middle of the first lockdown, she was one of 24 residents who passed away from the virus in such a short space of time. A year and a half later I went to college to do a pre-nursing course and became a care worker in a nursing home. I was working during a COVID outbreak and caught it. Thankfully we had PPE and vaccines and all the residents and staff recovered. I can only imagine what the nursing home staff who worked through the height of COVID had to go through, especially with lack of equipment, you absolute superheroes x

Jodie was fantastic in this movie, it was a true reflection of the early days of the pandemic, when life suddenly changed, as we knew it!

They don't care about the most vulnerable people, the elderly in nursing homes here in the u.s., they (the CONservatives and so-called religious) only care about the "unborn." Until they're born, and then they are on their own. This film looks utterly devastating and heartbreaking.

Yes and fast forward to now and they want Matt Hancock to win I'm a celeb it's not the public who have short memories it's the p.r people controling the narrative and the general public falling for it.

Me and my family managed to avoid covid for almost two years after the first outbreak of covid, in Jan this year we ended up getting covid. We recovered without going to hospital etc. But as someone with health anxiety I'm still very worried about getting sick again

The text on the thumbnail says we are heroes. Not focusing on the contents of the video I felt like protesting against this. As a group, we're not. No single group can be classified as heroes. But I don't even know what it means to be a hero, so maybe.. Thing is, we're all just a bunch of people trying to figure life out, just like those of you who are not in healthcare. Some of us are skilled, some are not. Some of us are genuinely caring people, some of us are arseholes. If the idea is that we are heroes because of how the best of us care for those who suffer, then you don't need to work in healthcare to be a hero, all of us can care for those who suffer. I'm no hero at all, but my patients and their families who have to deal with immense trauma, suffering and struggles, they truly are heroes

It was so scary not knowing what, how, when. The beginning really sucked because of the fear. I'm not saying it isn't bad now, but the beginning was horrible.

No way in the real world would a care assistant be left to work on her own on a night shift or day shift never mind a brand new worker…..it’s the usual let’s make it even more doom and gloom than what it actually was like to keep the constant fear flowing.

Literally attended a care home a few months ago with no medical or manager cover due to covid sickness. 4 carers on a floor with a year experience split between them. It's not unheard off .

I live in US and yes, this happened to me. I work in a congregate setting and every single worker except me (and a manager) was out with Covid-the manager had other places to be. I had to hold it down alone-so yes, this happens. Do you work in healthcare? I'm guessing wherever you are has a better system that us.
