Back in the early 60s Dad had a mounted corn picker on a WD and he would slip the hand clutch all day long ( the tractor ground speed was too fast when fully engaged )There was smoke coming out of the hand clutch cover at noon and at the end of the day. At the end of the season we would remove som shims to tighten the clutch. What a great tractor that was. Glad to see you making videos on this tractor.

Good video. My hand clutch on my wd45 quit working a while back. Its engaged because no matter what position it was in the tractor would be in gear and when the pto is engaged it would work. Just when I step on the foot clutch, the pto would push the tractor until the pto would stop spinning. I think something came loose on the collar end that causes the hand lever not to do anything. Good day Boy interesting. While watching, I thought allis were 1st for oil clutch,, thinking back my former boss had Case D & it.s main clutch was in oil. Remember neighbor with round baler that clutch was used all the time. Boy clean oil would really help. The d-17 are those clutches same with high & lo range. Good video Thanks
