Wow! I only discovered your channel a couple of weeks ago. I've watched many of your postings. I have a question unrelated to this particular video. I am a senior and lung cancer survivor with one lung left. At 71 years old I still love to go camping and trout fishing. I have had to downsize because of finances and medical bills. So I no longer have a camper and pickup truck to pull it. But I have a small car now and a wonderful All Season Kodiak tent. My power needs are not much. I love camping off grid boondocking here in East Tennessee. I don't need Refrigeration. The cooking I do I does not require any Refrigeration. I carry a lot of dried things I dehydrate a lot of my own vegetables from my garden and I can process a lot of the meats and venison that I kill each year. My main requirement for electricity would be to keep my cell phone charged and a few lights to have in my tent and cam site. I have budgeted myself $200 for a power station. Of course I've looked at some that you have reviewed and I really like lots of them but there are so many many out there that just boggles my mind. I have looked at so many I was wondering which one you would recommend that's $200 or less. I would love to have the jackery or some of those but they just cost more than I can afford. I was given a brand new t p 60 watt solar panel that seems to be pretty good so I need one that would be compatible with that. I certainly trust your judgment and recommendation and I love watching your videos. I look forward to hearing back from you but I know you're a busy man and probably have thousands and thousands of comments to review. You have a good day and stay safe and healthy out there. Thanks, Joe

I've had one of these for a while now really like it... there is something to consider when assessing loads though... The generator is an 850w/1000w generator but it caps out at 7.1a. I was having problems with two 344w loads overloading the generator every time I tried them... turns out the load was 344w at 4.7a... so two of them was over 9a which is definitely higher than the 7.1a cap of the generator. Its the first generator i've had that I had to check amps as well as watts. They are great little generators though.
@perryrubin4608
@perryrubin4608 3 жыл бұрын
Wattage (850) divided by Voltage (120) = Amps, therefore 7.1 Amps is normal. We have learned that most lithium chargers require much higher operating wattage than advertised due to inefficiencies. That efficiency number .6/.7. Take your 344 watts divide by .6 = 573 watts are probably required. 573 divided by 120 volts = 4.77 amps.

Thank you for reviewing this product as I was looking for a small, efficient propane generator but didn't know where to look. I bought an Alp Propane Generator. I have a tiny camper with a 5000 BTU AC. It’s the perfect size to run my AC or charge my battery. I already have a 20# propane tank on my camper so it makes sense for a small setup and I don’t need to transport smelly gas in my car.

I just wanted to add... I really appreciate that you don't snub doing reviews of crowdfunding products as Will Prowse is doing. I understand the concerns he has about them, but he's kind of choosing for us in this instance as to "what's good for us" rather than helping us make an educated decision. It's his channel and he can do as he pleases, and I know he's worried about his brand, but I believe it's a mistake to think it somehow helps his viewers. I appreciate that you treat us like adults, give us the full monty and let us decide for ourselves if we want to take a chance. You know, free markets and all that 'Murican stuff! Thanks again... your thorough and comprehensive reviews have been immensely helpful to me in choosing off-grid power solutions!!! 🥰🥰🥰

@@HOBOTECH Agreed. You and Will do far more good for BOTH consumer and manufacturer by doing blunt, honest reviews - crowdfunded or not - BECAUSE you can have that sort of impact. Will is brilliant and provides us with fantastic content, but I think it does more harm than good for him to ignore products just because they're crowdfunded. I understand his distaste over how crowdfunding is currently being exploited - in fact, I share his displeasure over it, just not his solution. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm dissing him, I just hope he changes his mind on this issue and am very grateful you look at it differently.

Hello. I'm a new viewer & sub and have found you to be very knowledged & integregal. I want to apologize in advance for the length of this message. I realize you provide detailed & indepth reviews & after that it's up to us to choose. I'm a 62 yo, & because of COVID haven't worked since July, and thus, a soon-to-be, solo female nomad. As a consequence I purchased an old van & attempted a "no-build build" to transition into.. which is NOT a sob story or a complaint. I'm actually totally looking forward to experiencing what so many have found to be a blessing. Anyway, I say all of that to see if you'd consider making an exception & give me your opinion of the sogens you've reviewed. I realize as one of your viewers commented "...you can't be our personal shopper..." , but it's so many to choose from & I can't afford to make a bad investment with the little finances I'm working with. So, if you were making an "out-of-pocket" purchase for yourself, which of these would you buy? I'll have minimal needs with just running (2)USB fans/small heater, laptop & eventually a small fridge, but want min 1000W. Thanks for the education you provide & for any direction you feel comfortable giving, but I'll understand if you prefer not to. Safe & happy travels!

The season changes shadows from house trees etc. bvr 53 freezer/fridge in test is spot on. Once it reached -2° C it uses less power. Close lid all the way. Oops it runs when lids open all day long. Judging by their past product (watch the epic takedown on KZfaq by Thunderf00t for their Mark II A/C) and scathing reviews found via Google Search, I heartily recommend an "eyes wide open" to the ElecHive. The DELTA 1300 draws over 1200 Watts when charging! So, one ALP will not support the regular fast charging of the DELTA 1300. If you use an AC adapter connected to the solar port, you can charge more slowly and stay under the 850 Watt limit of the ALP.

I am interested in buying this product to charge my Delta 1300 solar generator but I'm wondering if you can confirm it will charge it? I realize this only has 850 running watts... and the Delta 1300s can pull 1100-1200 watts while charging. This is the part that concerns me. My HOPE is that the Delta 1300 would just pull what it can from the Alp generator and charge at 800-850 watts until full. My FEAR is that the Delta 1300 would pull too much wattage, forcing to shut the Alp generator down by overloading it. I'm hoping if you can test this out, or if anyone else here that has both can test this, or knows the answer? Thank you!

Thank you so much for this information and all your reviews. I am extremely interested in the Montez. My concern is about the company. If I buy one and have issues, will I be able to get help? I know they have a 2 year warranty, but what is the reputation of the company? Do you have any information about the company? Have they been around for a while? What is their reputation? Thanks again for all you do?

I have a duramax 1200 with that said I live in Oracle Az at kind of at the north base of Mt Lemmon. I almost had to evac because of Big fire last summer I see this could be used with my small and midsize tanks I cant haul out my 100 pound on the run. what is the warranty on this product? and if I don't have to evac do you see this as a supplement to the duramax or do you think it's overkill though I do believe 1 is none and two is one for most equipment.

Can we use the BougeRV panel with the Leoch ??? How can anyone not want the Leoch? Am I missing something? There is no better bang for the buck. The panels are a different story.

Will Prowse already owns that niche. I might get into it eventually as I need to DIY a setup for the house.

@@HOBOTECH Prowse is a racist ahole that I don't care to watch. From what I've seen that niche isn't really being filled at the moment. Lots of new parts that aren't being fully reviewed like you do it.

Mr HOBOTECH, even with you updated video. You still didn't show us how to change the motor oil of this propene generator. It is hard to do that? How do we know how much oil for that Generator?
@HOBOTECH
@HOBOTECH 3 жыл бұрын
You change it just like any other generator. Instructions tell you everything you need to know about that.

Awesome Info, Now on the new Maxoak Bluetti, Is it a updated version that fixes some of the stuff for the Ac200p? As far as what I am talking about, its the following, the power usage while on using up to 71 watts? The firmware ability actually being implemented to fix some of the screen issues and misspells, The option of battery expandability. I loved you 2 reviews on pre production models and was about to buy one, but listening to you and others those things kept me from buying. Thanks a ton, Mike from Chandler AZ

The issues that less than 1% of customers complained about with the AC200P have been resolved, but I'm talking about a totally new model coming out.

My biggest gripe with Generator manufactures is the sound tests info. They always test these with no load. This gives the customer a false purchase info. Unless you plan on running your generator with no load all the time....imo
