Based on this video and other videos for the PT35 on KZfaq, I just ordered a PT35 using your affiliate link (which saved me a little $$). You failed to mention Free Shipping when ordering via your link. We currently have a 17qt AstroAI which we have used for a couple of years and are happy with it, but I wanted something with a larger capacity and dual zones. Note --- We use our 17L AstroAI mostly as a freezer to transport frozen items when on a long trip and use a regular cooler with ice packs as a cooler for drinks on those trips. When we get the PT35 we will be able to eliminate the cooler with ice packs and thus gain more much needed floor space. The PT35 is only about $10 more than what we paid for the AstroAI 17L 2 years ago. The footprint of the PT35 is almost the same as our current 17L but it is approx 6.5" higher, which for us is not a problem. To us floor space is more import. We always pre-cool our freezer and add items to it that are already frozen. When driving we utilize a 120vac outlet that is built into our vehicle and when we are parked overnight and our vehicle is turned off I use a DIY power station to power the unit through the night. Listened to Dr. Hobo and orderd mine. But it arrived defective. Inverter could not work at1800w. Capacity way below the test on the video. Thought I would just send it back. Nope! they will cover warranty repair if I pay to send it back. Ever try shipping a 40lb lithium battery pack? Take your chance with these guys. If you get a bad unit it will cost you a whole lot more than if you have bought it from a reputabnle company in this first place.

I’ve been using this fridge for a few months. It is my first portable “compressor” fridge. I find the compressor sound quite tolerable. A question for Prof. Hobo and other users of these fridges: How much gurgling and bubbling noise is normal after the compressor cycle off? Thanks

We purchased a single zone SetPower refrigerator for our van. The only complaint I have is that the temperature read out is off a few degrees. We just keep a thermometer inside.

Excellent review, as always. We just ordered both units on an Amazon flash sale. While it is unfortunate that the generator doesn’t seem to factor in the extra juice I have a small point of contention with something you said. 15:12 you pointed out with the units connected together that at 2160W output that the display showed 1.0 hours of run time. You then disconnected the pack, turned the unit back on and said it still showing an hour. RIGHT AFTER you mentioned that the display went from 0.9 to 0.6 hours, and after the jump cut while still making your point it was showing 0.3 hours. Simple math, really, not only did the display correctly show the run time, run the math for 2160W for a 1000Wh generator at 74% and for 2000Wh gen (74%) + pack (100%). 😊 Otherwise great video.

Why didn’t you test the fridge with items inside it to get a more realistic power consumption result?

I need a large or one capacity plug in freezer or fridge/freezer for grocery shopping far from my rural home.

I have an AJ40 and TC20 (I bought first). Both have been flawless so far. I recently bought their PG216WH lithium ion power brick. They basically "live" in the back of our Jeep Grand Cherokee for trips to the store. I'm VERY happy with both of them.

I subscribe to the old saying "you get what you pay for" but you are spot on, $229 over 3 years is $76 fridge for a year....if it breaks, oh well, that's what the warranty is for. Of course, that depends on how responsive they are regarding warranty issues.... Thanks for the review, I love your videos!

37:48 Hi Hobo, I decided I needed more AC in my camper van. Would you recommend two X2000'S or an X2000 & B2000. I'm a little confused about the power balancing you mentioned. Can you still use the entirety of the x2000 & B2000 as AC power? Because you said if the B2000 battery is lower than the X2000, the main unit would feed the B2000 to balance the system. Do you happen to know the transfer speed? I thought if they're both charged to 100% the B2000 would drain before the X2000.

I have the PT45 version and I love it. Once it’s filled with food, the temp fluctuations are much smaller and power consumption moderates thanks to more thermal mass.

I have the Rv45s which is stainless and has spring handles, also have the mc20 which is abs plastic both work great
