the glass over the date window is an anti magnetic measure as magnetism can get in through there. that crystal is anti magnetic film

Man I love Alpina! I’ve never seen the one you showcased in the video but it’s beautiful! I own the Seastrong Diver Heritage from Alpina! It’s an awesome compressor style dive watch! Nice video man!

I love their 41mm GMT with a 24 hour bezel, and would buy one of those right now but it's quartz. A strange line, but lots of potential.

Just discovered your channel and great reviews. Just about to buy my 3rd Alpina and I’m getting the smart watch in orange reduced from £795 to £477 in a sale. I would say without not being an expert for sure that Alpina are the most underrated Swiss watch brand period by far.

@@NotAWatchSnob They really are. I think the microbrand Helm are even more overbuilt than Zelos. My Vanuatu has links that are about 3mm thick. A weapon of a watch!

Great watch, the strap when getting older: the inner red will crack even more, the outer leather part is 👌❤️👍. Hope they change construction technique of watch stap, the look is 👍. Happy to have fallen on your channel! John (from Montreal)

Alpina is very underrated, but in my opinion Ball is even more overlooked. Also there's a BMW tuning house called Alpina.

Just got myself a start timer big date through an auction, so far below the default price, feeling lucky because these watches are impeccable. Rather chunky, but for a pilot watch, fine :)

Steinhart uses the same box :) Also incredible bang for buck. I have a diver from them, insane lume, back window, excellent specs and under 750 for a premium version. H8ghly recommended

Every time I mention how my Alpina chronograph looks very similar to an IWC chronograph the snobs dump all over me, but I honestly think they’re just jealous of the quality and finishing that these watches actually have and they probably are stuck with a timex

Snobs are the exact reason I started this channel. I was all excited about a herritor I purchased and I got jumped on for wearing a "cheap Chinese" (even though it's a miyota movement Japanese) watch and the comments were vile. Alpina is a SOLID brand I got to talk to the CEO Guido benidini at one point and you can tell how much work they put in to create such quality peices. I just wish the straps didn't fall apart so quickly other than that their SOLID

I’m a hardcore IWC fan, and I don’t understand why anybody would dump over Alpina? They are a very good brand, their watches are good quality and are truly underrated. Alpina watches re-emerged only within the last 2-3 decades or so from the ashes of a highly respected Swiss watch maker that began in the 19th century.

I know I know Quartz, but I love Alpina and I have two of their Quartz watches; GMT Quartz blue and Alpiner blue with brown band. Most complaints I see are due to their watches being oversized.

I have the Alpiner 4 in Blue with a brown leather band. Had the same problem with the watchband but even worse (crack across the whole band). Got backt to my seller and he replaced it no problem. He told me that it was probably because it was in his window and the sun alway hit it. But this cracking should not happen.
