I'm working on mine 2008 Odyssey now. Thank you for this helpful video. A curious note: my tension pully has nuts on the wheels so I just put the socket on the top one and moved ccw to create slack. Also, I started last night but didnt finish yet. The lower bolt on the alternator is barely moving so it'lll take forever to remove. I am following your lead with minimalist removal. About to pour some coffee and get to it!

Yes there are two molded nuts on that bracket

Hopefully you still read these comments. I can’t figure out how to get the alternator out. I’m 99 percent positive I took the right bolts out (12mm on top and 14mm on bottom) and it won’t budge. Let alone shimmy it all the way up and out

There's a pinch pivot on the bottom of the alternator nator I'm pretty confident that's what's slowing you down

I’ve watched 5 different videos now on how to replace my alternator (09 Odyssey) I’ve looked and looked and I can’t find the damned tensioner head am I missing something? It should be right the between those two pulleys and the alternator right?

It's going to be in between the alternator and the air conditioner

You should just Google belt routing diagram 09 Honda Odyssey and it'll show you all of the different components

I figured it out, my tensioner must be a replacement because it is different
