In this video I install an aftermarket (Traxxas Upgrade) aluminum alloy steering bell crank assembly onto my Traxxas slash xl-5 2wd that I dubbed “The CHEAPEST Traxxas Slash” Project!

Dang I should have watched this before I did my bellcranks. I had a hell of a time getting the 2 long screws out

I bought a slash 2wd and it has updated 4x4 slash bellcranks, I bought this same upgrade one but green, I don't know if these same ones will work on my new 2021 slash

@@RCKnockout I was able to mount it and get it on, I think the stock plastic 4x4 bellcranks have two lips like a yoke or driveshaft for camber links and turnbuckles (tie rods). I think it'll all go in the same as I think my tie rods are identical even tho I have 4x4 updates

@@RCKnockout I thought you were actually doing a four-wheel-drive servo change but I noticed it was a 2 Wheel Dr. sure will change. Not sure if it’s all the same shirt off, or because it’s a servo saver on top of it which makes a slight difference to it.

@@carlobell2558 it’s the same Servo as the 4x4 model..it just looks different because the 2wd has the Servo Saver built into the Servo horn

Is it worth it that upgrade on my rustler 4x4 vxl? Am going to have future problems?

I doubt you’ll have problems with the stock steering rack but I’m not sure if it’s set up exactly the same on a 4x4 Rustler though?

Look at upgrade bellcranks made for the Slash 4x4 or Stampede 4x4. Unlike the 2WD models, the 4x4's use a different drag link to clear the center driveshaft. Also, the ones for the 4x4's maintain the integrated servo saver as these come stock with a solid horn

@@RCKnockout I have a question on the steering bellcrank if tighten of the steering will cause it swaying side to side after letting the wheel on remote go?

@@RCKnockout oh k I'm having a bit of a problem with the steering. I still have the stock bellcrank and times I noticed that when I accelerate it drags to one side and also in letting off the throttle as well. What could it be I tried aligning the wheels at -1 on camber and on toe at 0.
