My experience initially with the new generic form of Suboxone that insurance companies seem to be filling called Alvogen. Remember I’m not a doctor this is just my personal experiences. If you find a brand-name works best make sure you tell your doctor to write brand necessary on your script

I just got switched to these yellow ones last week. And I think they're stronger than the brand name ones! I've tried the Dr Reddys too, and they are garbage. I recommend taking the yellow Alvogen subs.

John Wick you like these? I usually get the Sandoz generic ones from CVS which I really like cause they’re literally name brand suboxone strips inside generic packaging.. made by the same manufacturer. I tried to fill my RX today at CVS and they said they’re all out and don’t know when they’ll have more so I took my RX to Rite Aid and got these yellow Alvogen’s, wondering how they are. I’ve had the Dr Reddy’s and those are garbage. Hopefully these Alvogen’s work for me

John Wick Yea Dr Reddy’s is straight trash man. I like these Alvogen’s but I would definitely recommend filling your RX at a CVS just once so you can try the Sandoz strips cause those are literally the brand strips inside generic packaging.. they’re made by the same manufacturer as the brand ones and made at the same plant in NJ.. those are definitely worth trying. If you do try them let me know what you think I’m curious to know if you’d like them over the Alvogen’s

Thank you for this video. When I first saw that bright orange wrapper in my panicked internally for a second and automatically thought, this is going to not work right! I've been doing some reading and watched your review and I feel much more at ease now. I take such a low dose so a difference is strength or quality really has an impact. Appreciate the experience you shared. I am in California and I have not heard of any stores carrying the Alvogen. Walgreens, Costco, Walmart all carry Dr. Reddys manufactured in India. I picked up my first generic sub from CVS by Sandoz and was very happy with it. Still not cheap but easily a third of name brand. Indivior gave Sandoz the go ahead to market the generic for them since Indivior (Name Brand ) stood to lose millions to the generic market. Best to all.

@@dansroadtorecovery5563 They are the same . I had to go back on these since the Buprenorphine generics are on "back order" (to the month 2 years ago same thing) and whats available is garbage in my experience. Akorn formerly Hi Tech and from India Sun Pharma that the FDA is up in their ass again. Terrible medicine for me at least. Everyone, fortunately, physically is different. Turned out to be a blessing though since I preferred the films initially but lost my insurance so paying $1100 a month out of pocket was not possible. The bupes are the way way to go $$ but I do prefer the films to the generic bupes. Westward-Hikma and Rhodes Pharma make the best, for me that is. So due to this so called "back order" I am now back to taking basically from what I have experienced the same film but hell of a lot cheaper. Indivior stood to lose millions in the generic market. Ironic how 2 days after the judge ruled in favor of Dr. Reddys Indivior announces they are getting in on the generic sub game too and Sandoz puts out a news release in the various medical news editions they basically were given the blessing of marketing the Indivior brand now generic under Sandoz. I am certain its the same and they will still make a billion off these once everybody on generics switches to Sandoz. Damn 1.8 Billion on Subs in a year... Keep on truckin' . We may be addicts but we are not stupid. Thank you for the kind reply and Same to you.

@@destinylovesadrian I have been getting abnormal headaches as well and have gone back to the Westward/Hikma generic naloxone free buprenorphine (Subutex generic), now that they are available again. $120 cheaper too. I pay out of pocket so that's important. I have an awesome compounding Pharmacy in downtown San Francisco I have been with over a year now, that doesn't accept discount coupon cards and still gets me a better price then the chains like CVS and Walgreens that accept GoodRX for example. I give them the NDC number and they get either Westward/Hikma formerly Roxanne or the Rhodes Pharma brand for me the next day every time. Good luck everyone. We are all different fortunately and just because one does this to one doesn't mean it does the same for someone else. Generics ARE different and I have a pharmacy that admits that certain drugs, Buprenorphine and Suboxone for one are different. They don't try to argue with me at least, since they understand I am the one taking it. They trust me and they have other patients that have expressed similar experiences. It's great having a pharmacy that treats me as a human being. When I was getting my variety of opiates at the CVS' of the world and others they treated me well. Once I got on this medication different story. Doesn't make sense especially since I pay 5 times as much now for my prescriptions. Oh well. Human beings are strange and complicated and imperfect in an imperfect world. We just do our best.

I'm on subutex. 8 years. I'm on my way as far away from this crap as possible. This stuff after a few years has torn my digestive system and body apart. Theres a major issue with over prescribing the dose too high. .1 that's a point 1 mg is a strong pain med overseas. They give us 16 and 24mg to start. That's nuts. I jumped from 16 to 8 no issue. Felt better. Then after couple years dropped to biting a tiny piece a few times a day. I'm now 1mg ish 2 times a day. And will keep tapering. I use 8mg pill. Its rough trying to measure. But I have a plan. Since most have no idea that you'll barely notice any negative and way more positive on LESS of this stuff. Due to the ceiling effect. Also , keep in mind. This stuff makes you feel anxious and is bad for you long term ...Doc dont care. If you are a seeker and need to stay on it to get passed that desire or whatever that's fine. But the dose of over 8mg is waste. You cannot feel or notice over 4mg 2 times a day. The rough part is getting to 2mg. I finally notice the aching. Plus I notice aches from stomach issues and lungs that were hidden from the pain relief. My specialist told me to run. Dont walk. Run away from this shit. It was meant as a stepping stone for up to 6 months. Not 8 years. I hate drugs. I owe it that. The lower I get the better I feel minus the issues I've got because of the damage. I hope this helps some people. I do not encourage this stuff. It's a sick feeling you'll get after a few years. Really sick. I pray the 2 week Kratom tea helps me when I jump from .5 or 1mg. A day or every other day. If not oh well. I'm fighting for my freedom. Good luck.

Yeah I can't say that I disagree with you almost anything you said we definitely get it over prescribed to us.. a couple years ago I tried to taper down and you're right I noticed no difference whatsoever until I got the 2 mg mark and my body was getting sick on anything less so I did the kratom and it works but for whatever reason I guess I just wasn't ready to fully recover at the time because I relapsed and needed to go back on Subs.. but yeah for chronic relapser i think Suboxone is an okay idea for a while but for the majority of people like you said as far away from it as you can after you get past the physical part. Good luck to you on tapering.. keep us posted

This is not new suboxone, it's generic buprenophine/naloxone. The drug is buprenorphine/naloxone and that drug in brand name form is suboxone. Your insurance can not force you to switch to generic a d neither can your pharmacy. If you aren't comfortable switching to a generic then you have your doctor put "brand name necessary" on your prescription and as long as your insurance had been covering suboxone before the generic bup/nal came out then your insurance has to allow it. You absolutely do not have to try any of the generic buprenorphine/naloxone that comes out. You're in charge of your health care and your body. If your concerned that you could be switched to generic bup/nal in the future then just go on the offensive and again you just tell your doctor to write "brand name necessary" on your script.

Hey Chris! Glad to hear your doing well. Yeah, the anxiety of a generic that may be inferior is off the charts so what I can tell you is I also use CVS out here in Phoenix and I just picked up my months script and it was Alvogen . So, I’m about to try them again. I’m pretty sure that is the “generic” they got in stock this month. I have not had any issues with any of the generics except for the Alvogen . The Alvogen does not make you feel sick or you won’t feel like you’re going through withdrawal. It just doesn’t quite give you the bump that u usually get and it may be a bit less medicine but nothing too noticeable. I work in the medical field and there is a national shortage on all controlled medication’s, and CVS and Walgreens are the ones the run out the fastest so we need to just be satisfied with what we got for now and hope the economy and the workforce get back to normal and start supplying the pharmacies with adequate supplies I really appreciate you taking time to watch the video and I will definitely be in touch if I get any side effects from this alvogen that I’m taking starting tonight . Hey thanks for watching & appreciate the comment. To answer ur question , some of it may def be psychosomatic (in our heads) BUT it could also be the generic . Each generic is a tiny bit different and ur body may not absorbing quite as much. The test would be to try another generic or even name brand again without knowing it . Since that isn’t typically possible , your next course would be to see if dr can write brand name only on script or even switch pharmacy to one that has a diff generic . Although I’ve had success with alvogen , I know body chemistry is a huge deal and you absolutely have to talk to ur doc about alternatives. Remember if we don’t speak up about our health no one will. For 2 years ive been seeing psychiatrists..Cardiologists cause my heart has been skipping beats...racing...having extreme pain in my chest...back and neck (Left side only) short of breath and Anxiety along with extreme constipation. Heart doctor says heart is good. Mental Doctor says i have anxiety. Gastro doc says i have GERD. What just occurred to me this all started at the same time i switched brand names! As soon as my appointment comes im going to ask to go back to the blue packet and see how i feel cause if this entire time ive been suffering cause of a medicine i chose to take cause it was cheaper than the brand name im gonna be very upset with myself and very relieved. I never thought it could be a possibility til i read this comment. If it turns out i still have pain and anxiety after i return to the brand name then off to the rheumatologist! But if i been taking something that makes me feel good while putting me in withdrawal symptoms for 2 years? Im gonna throw a violent parade

I’m sorry to hear that. Like with everything there are always exceptions . What brand of generic were you taking? I know people with bad experiences with Dr. Reddy but I’ll not surprised cause it will affect everyone different . For you, I would assume BRAND ONLY may be the way to go even if that means a fight with ur insurance .. please keep me updated and thank you so much for watching .

i just got alvogen 8/2mg strips and i was scared they wouldnt work (been on real sub strips for 10yrs) thankfully they work exactly the same. Perhaps even stronger. So glad i didnt get the dr.reddys that everyone is saying is garbage (makes you wonder, what even is suboxone? is it some complex molecule that is difficult to replicate?) strange

Nice the Alvogen ones really do work great! Even Dr Reddy wasn’t bad but Alvogen is def the Cadillac of generic as far as I’m concerned.. I actually just switched to Subutex a month ago and I love them . I couldn’t take the Dr Reddy brand much longer so I had to make the change . Good luck with everything and keep me posted on ur Recovery and thanks for watching

Travis when u mean u started wd. Did u get any relief or was it like u skipped a dose? So far so good for me but everyone is diff. I would def bring those concerns to ur doctor and have them write brand neccesary. I know it will cause a Prior Auth issue with insurance but the couple days u will have to wait for the PA to go through might be worth it for ya. Regarding the headaches i know some people complain of that regardless of gen vs name brand but yeah bring it up to doc as you should not suffer due to the beuracrtic bullshit these insurance companies play. Sorry it doesnt sound like its working out buy hey u gave it a shot and now ya know u may need brand. Hope ur doc listens to ya. Im here if u need me.

Addicted To Recovery I subscribed :) but oh I hate them. I tried to be positive and have a positive mindset, I really did. But I’m suffering lol. I’m sure I’ll make it through but I’m scared to get stuck with these again. I have Medicaid so I don’t have a choice if they only cover generics now. I think even if the doctor put “brand only”, my insurance would still make me get generics. I heard cvs by my house has Sandoz! So that’s where I’m going next time for sure. The Dr Reddy ones make me feel fine for the first hour or 2 after dosing, then early withdrawal symptoms set in, deep yawning, eyes watering, legs aching, getting super tired out of nowhere, etc. I didn’t even know that was possible. Bupe is supposed to build up in your system and keep you feeling normal and stabilized. I’ve been on name brand strips for 6 1/2 years. I take 6mg a day now. There’s no reason I should feel this crappy and wake up in withdrawal. I hate complaining but these suck! I come from a family full of addicts, like everyone I know is on suboxone lol and they all agree, the ones who got stuck with the Dr Reddy brand hate them. Alvogen & Sandoz seem like the 2 best ones. I’m sorry they gave you another generic. I wish they would stick with 1 brand for each person, whatever works for them. But that’s not how privatized healthcare works in this country, unfortunately. At least Sandoz are made by Indivior. You’ll have to keep us all updated on them. I’m sending good vibes your way!! :)

@@Lanadelrae92 wow i heard they were bad but damn an hour or two smh. I remember hearing somewhere that the FDA only requires 30% of the active ingredient in a medication to be considered an approved generic. System is shot to shit. Yeah idk how Medicaid works with the name brand only thing (im sure at the very least it would be a prior auth nightmare) . i will keep u updated on the Sandoz cause they are literally made at the same factory the name brand is made at in Jersey. I checked the back of the wrapper and identical address plus wrapper is blue and whitw and has N8 just like Subs so i thing Sandoz might be the key to a good generic but yeah cant complain about Alvogen either. Cvs is where i got the Sandoz so ur right about that so if u can go there next time that might be for the best for ya.. Good luck!

At first they work, then after a few months they started making me very sick . Nauseous, headache and put me in a very odd headspace. They seem ok for a couple hours then it just goes downhill. I've tried taking less and it helped for a while, only because it made me feel "less shitty" side effects

I been on suboxone for years on and off. I tried many times to get off but I always go back to dope. Anyway I think these Alvogen strips are the same I think most people get used to a name and it messes with their head. Its literally the same 2 ingredients bupe and naloxone.

Hey thanks much for watching. Yeah I never did the scientific research on it but I always was the consensus just to make sure u get every bit. There’s absolutely no difference. It’s 8mg of bupe. Your body takes about ONE day to adjust. It’s like somebody asking for Pepsi and the place says they only have coke and you’re like “nah, nevernind.” It’s soda. It does the same shit, n same effect, caffeine and rots your teeth. Just tastes different.
