I really hope I can preform this miracle myself and it fixes my problem (BTW: same washing machine) I just don't have that "special wrench''. If it is clogged with a sock or something, does that mean the pump is out?

Tim If the pump is plugged you can just remove the sock or debre and in most cases it will work fine. You can by the wrench at our parts same say ship at 1-800-830-5665 if you need it. My amana won't even go into diagnostic mode and I have tried the reset sequence and the power out let is working. Will a lid lock cause it to not come on at all

I like the video but after removing the clothing did you test the drain pump before you replaced it. Where I work clothing is always clogging up the pump and after I remove pump blockage item, the pump works like normal. Or is this how appliance people rip off customers by replacing parts that still are good?

Brian In this case the pump bearing was clearly tied up. You can remove items that get stuck in the pump. We do remove items from the pump if we find them and then make sure the pump bearing does not leak water. Thanks for your input we allays welcome all comments. My unit agitates and works until draining - some clears out but there is about 2-4 inches of water that remains. I unhooked all lines and did find a tiny nail that came out and rehooked and had same issue. I then took off the motor to get a look and see if there were any red flags there - nothing. If the pump motor was bum would it still function somewhat? I have not tried taking out the innards as you did - don't have the wrench - would some obstruction cause this even though it's not 100% failing? It does sound like the motor might be working too hard. A parts place suggested checking the lid latch. Any suggestions? It came with my home and seems to be new. Ran the diagnostic but don't see anything registering a complaint. Any help greatly appreciated. Elisabeth

Hello, great video, however, I'm having a different problem with my Amana washer. It is making a loud ratcheting or cranking sound during the wash cycle only. When the wash light is lit up, it let's out these terribly loud short cranking sounds. Almost seems to be coming from the area to the left of the pump that you replaced. Where the belt is attached. The belt looks to be in good condition. But If you could post a video on how to properly access that area of the washer on the bottom, it would be helpful. Thanks.

@@madisonspeers8920 I fixed it. I can't remember exactly what I did though. I replaced some part that looked like a gear. I am sorry I don't have anymore info than that for you. I can't even remember what the part is called. Was easy to do.

So my Admiral which looks just like this one is banging around like crazy. I replaced the rods but it didn't fix the issue. I'm about to change the drive block next. If that doesn't fix it what else could it be? Sorry for the long question..

I have an older Amana washer. It doesn't do anything at all at any setting. There is also a burnt smell coming from the washer.

Would this problem stop the washing machine from turning on? Washer died while in the rinse cycle. It's filled with water and washer doesn't have any lights or makes any beeps.

Our washer filled with water and then shut down before it started spinning. I check the lid switch, fixed nothing. Took back off everything plugged it tightly. Did the motor reset by opening and closing lid 6 times, and nothing machine wont even make a clicking noise when setting to a new cycle. Could this be a bad cycle switch?

But to be honest my washer won't start and stopped working with the water still inside. (No power lights so I seriously doubt it's the coupler/boot) but I'll still nee to drain it to get the piece of shit out of my house.

I have oil leaking from the bottom of my washer Identical drive as this washer. I can’t see any oil dripping out. But I suspect capacitor leaking “I hope” Can I replace the oil and the seal for this Transmission??

Mine just flat out died mid wash cycle. Did all the resets and tried 10 times to get it into diagnostic mode and still nothing. Gonna drag it outside tomorrow and beat the crap out of it until I feel better and go buy a different brand of computer controlled garbage.
