For those having similar issues that were not resolved by this method, the following worked for me: Unplug the washer for at least 20 seconds Plug it back in Within 30 seconds of power returning to the washer, lift and close the lid 6 times. Start cycle normally Hope this helps someone not have to read Amana pdf manuals for an hour!

This would be much more useful with some commentary from you about what's going on. It took me 2 views to see that, I think you've removed the lock latch mechanism from the lid, and inserted it in the lock on the body of the machine. At least that's what it looks like you did? See, I was wondering why the red LED on the lid lock was lit, and you were able to lift the lid. Can you confirm for me that's what you did?

My lid lock won’t unlock even after I have washed our cloths not sure why it is not unlocking can you help me please? I have so much laundry to get done lol. This is so frustrating. I was trying to see if I could fix my girlfriends same exact machine. She had clothes she forgot to get out after she washed them had the washer lid open and the motor would occasionally kick on it didn’t start pouring water just the Motor kicked on. I unplugged it and now after plugging it back in it won’t start it the lights won’t come on at all. I don’t even know if the cord to the washer don’t work. I know the plug in still works it’s the same one for the dryer and the dryer turns on. I’ve tried doing this same diagnostic test either I’m doing it wrong or maybe like I said the chord doesn’t work.

I cannot reset my Amana Washer. About 10 seconds after plugging it in the drain pump activates, and there is no water in the tub. I cannot get into diagnostic mode because of this. I've used diagnostic mode many other times on a Whirlpool washer I fixed. I cannot understand why this machine does not reset. I reattached all the connectors to the control board. The green light on the board is lit. Is the control board bad?

Mine did that I had to reset it after each load still haven't completely figured it out. I pressed stop unpledged it then held stop down for 5 seconds plus Bach In then press start. Tried many suggestions that's the only one that worked

Hello do you still need my help? Thank you for the question. If your machine wont light up then its a guarantee its either your cord or the control board... how does the cord look? no bite marks or cuts? then its the control board. While the machine is plugged in Take the back top panel on the back of the washer off and look on the control board for a green LED light if you see the light then the cord is good nd its the control board

yes hello. Did you clean the little screen in side the water inlet valve where the water hoses screw on to the washing machine? these screens can get plugged blocking the water flow.... start by checking those by unscrewing the hoses from the washer. if they are not plugged up then It is either your water inlet valve is no good or its the control board. try reversing the two plugs on the water inlet valve... dies the water now come out? If the water still dont come out its the control board. If water does start flowing its only the valve..

I purchase a new amana washer 380$ ntw4516fw1 model, biggest waste of money and hardware built, company has major problems with this lid lock as you will find on youtube complaints. I spoke to a repairman wants to replace the entire electronic on the top I can't say enough bad about this machine and customer service. the brand new washer fails in less than 50 washers.new washer after 42 washers showing trouble days before put gently into storage and one year later was used again only to fail not just with lid lock but filling draining generally all-around crap. one test was I put in one flannel shirt set washer at rinse/spin it filled the washer so long it drew attention from everyone in the house. I caught the water in a bucket to measure and it wash nearly 60 gallons. Why can one company rebuilt the old style washer that does not have so many problems like was built in the 50, 60' 70s

I'm so sorry for the slow response. If you're in the United States you could contact me directly at 559-736-1960 that is my personal cell phone. I'm out doing service calls currently and don't mind giving you a few pointers... okay so you say your washing machine runs fine but does not put the water inside of itself correct? If this is the case then it is one of two things most likely dot-dot-dot the first thing I would check would be the water inlet valves dot-dot-dot which are what the water hoses are connected to on the washing machine... look behind your washing machine follow the water hose and see where it connects to the washer they are usually blue the washing machine hose threads on to it.. start by removing the water hose but make sure to shut them off first of course they usually have a little shut off valve on the other end of the hose where it connects to your house... remove the hoses from the side of the washing machine only and look inside the water inlet valves where the hoses were connected you'll see a little screen inside there scrape out the debris even the screen will come out if you want it to... if there's not a bunch of debris blocking your water flow then this means your water inlet valve went bad. This is normal and the water inlet valve is usually pretty inexpensive to buy and they're simple to put on as well

Hello. Thank you for the question... If your able to get the washer working correctly by restarting the spin cycle then that tells me you have either a blockage in your water pump or near it. Most people are not aware that every washing machine made now adays have a sensor in them that tells itself if the water is all drained out or not. If you use to much soap it could trick the sensor into thinking there is still water in the washer... It does not take much to set this sensor off... meaning you sometimes cant see the water but its there. Electric water pumps can be a bit pricy .. they go from $30-$140. I suggest removing the pump and maybe a hose or two from underneath. If theres no blockage then you either use to much soap or your water pump is failing. You may be wondering... How to test the washer water pump?... Lets not get to far ahead of ourselves.. Pull the pump off inspect it and if you dont find any problems message me again and we will continue the troubleshooting. :)

@@methodmeetsmadness I use All, it has a small lid that's also the measuring cup, since it's just me I never use anymore than that. It maybe a blockage in the outlet hose but I also looked at a couple of different videos that shows how to bypass the lid lock. I'll keep looking into it. Thanks

Hello. Im sorry your having issues. It sounds like you have water stuck inside. Try realeasing the water by lowering the hose in the back. Once you do this you should check the water pump there may be a sock or something preventiung it from pumping out the water. \

@@mattmonroe5680 Yes it will because the motor is smart and knows all the water isnt out of the machine. Can you visibly see the water in bottom of the tub? Better yet... does the machine make a small humming or buzzing noise when its powered on? If so yes you have a restriction. I have seen several corona masks stop washers as well as socks and underwear. Once i found a pair of underwear so big I thought it was a shirt... well thats what I predicted... as the man watched me pull and pull on them till they finally came out... come to find out they were his wifes underwear and by the size of them, she was a pretty impressive girl if you know what i mean!! point of the story is alot of time you will be surprised by what you find down in the washer . @@methodmeetsmadness I haven't had a chance to get to it I'm hoping tomorrow I can get under the machine and take the pump out to see if there is a restriction I did lower the hose and some water came out and when I moved the machine I can hear water inside still sloshing around. To answer your question about when the machine is powered on it does not make any humming noise just the sound of lid latching and unlatching. The fact I heard water sloshing around definitely seems like I have something stuck in there hopefully tomorrow I will have time to pull it apart

I have an Amana HE washer. It has a sensor that detects fill, or you can change it to deep wash. Water will run for a moment or two, but does nothing after that except make noise like it is draining, but no water is actually in the tub. It's like it runs in and drains as it is attempting to fill. How can I fix this?

Hello your water pump is either broken or plugged up. Your washers trying to drain out the previous load of water and cant and will be stuck until it does... so you need to drain the water . Get the hose in the back. the hose that the water gets pumped out of the washer through and lower it below your waist line and it will gravity feed out the hose and you just need to catch it into a bucket. Drain it and then you can investigate the water pump. It may just be plugged!!

What you need to do is run the error code mode which is very similar to running the diagnostic mode that you're getting stuck in

I believe the appliance repair business is full of crooks now. They have no honor or respect left for customers! They have destroyed the life expectancy of almost all major appliances by bringing it down from a 20-30 year life expectancy down to a 1-3 years life expectancy!! That big of a jump was not accidental im sure! Sad thing is... there isn't much we can do about it!. besides opt in for the biggest warranty they offer which is only 1-3 years or do what they dont want you to do... fix the appliance... They can actually be pretty easy, fast and cheap to repair!! In other words: Average Do It Yourself washer repair can be done by just about anyone in 30 minutes for around $30-$50!! $30-$50 and 30 minutes time every year or two is a hella lot better than $600-$700 wouldn't you say?.

Done all that, and still nothing. Dropped dead in the middle of a wash. Tried resetting and all that. Nothing. She's a goner.

Everything went well until I got to “Final Spin” to push Start…. It won’t do anything :( please help I need to wash my clothes

Never buy these amana washers.. they are poorly designed with very cheap components that will break after a few months.
