I so badly want a Vampire Chronicles series that starts with gothic horror and eventually gets to bird aliens.

I think aliens *_*if done VERY right*_* could actually work in a Supernatural Gothic Horror setting. For instance, what if the Bird Aliens were *_*extremely Eldritch*_* 10th dimensional beings whose manifested appearance was _like_ Birds because that's the closest thing you could equate them to due to how incomprehensibly terrifying they appear to be! So yea, hopefully, if they ever adapt this book, they take some queues from Cixin Liu's _Remembrance of Earth's Past_ trilogy!

Ok. So, Lizard bird space overlords inadvertently created vampires with the organic robots they sent to Atlantis 12k years ago to erase all mammals. Love to have seen her publisher's face after that initial pitch 😊

There is a 0% chance that this book started as a Vampire Chronicles installment. It has the same problems as Memnoch. Anne had this ridiculous out-there concept, couldn't figure it out, and so she just said, "Fuck it, and Lestat's there too."

I am so glad you're going through these books and explaining everything you read because when I read this book I found it so weird that I seriously thought I mixed it up with another book and became so confused! But nope, I read it correctly the first time. It's really just that weird. I am so thankful for these recap videos of the Vampire Chronicles books because it's making sense of everything I read when they were released. Can't wait to see this particular book on screen just for the weirdness!

*marius (& others) were alive before and after atlantis, in that region. socrates spoke of it* bc it was right off the coast 500 bc. no1 remembers that society? no1? i guess anne wont have read her books in a very long time. also: the whole story is insane. _JC

It seems like every book of Rice’s you “read”, you don’t like. I’m thinking the Chronicles aren’t for you. The stock photos of totally unrelated sources supposedly used as character references are cringe.
