Scott, I am not a detailer but I am a DIYer who loves to keep my car clean as well as making sure it is well taken care of. In general, I love keeping my car clean while applying what I learn from you and other detailers to help my mom and brother keep their cars clean😁I have seen many detailing videos from many individuals who do this as their living or have knowledge in auto detailing. I can binge watch your videos all day and there are not too many people like you who expose the flaws and marketing tactics by companies that provide products to detailers worldwide. You have opened my eyes completely and I now question any detailers and the products they stand behind. I understand those who are detailers have their prices set based on the services provided, but not everyone can afford the . TBH I am a bit scared to work on my care because I think I'll cause some mistakes on my pain but from watching your videos, I look forward to polish my car while referencing your videos. Keep up the amazing work, Scott and thank you so much! 😃🙌

1 wash your car really good, 2 clay your car to remove any contamination. This second step is really important because some of this contamination can damage your paint. 3 do it under a shade, 4 don’t over do it especially on corners. 5 never used a dirty polish pad, 5 when you done polish your car wash again before your wax it. 6 when you apply the wax wait like 5 minutes before buffer the wax of. You don’t want circle in your paint follow this steps specially on black paint.

I bought my first DA last summer and watching this channel I have come to realize something, I am moving way to fast on those passes. The results were good, but not as nice as I thought there were going to be but I guess that kind of timidness comes standard your rookie year. These videos have given me the confidence to work a little slower and deeper, thanks for all your advice and tips Scott.

I don’t want to sound dumb here so please forgive my lack of knowledge. I will be doing my first minor correction on my wife’s 2021 pilot. Black paint is already a nightmare and she does have a few light swirls and hairline scratches. Based on the video which brought me to this one, using the Griots Complete compound, is that all I need to complete the process of removing swirls and scratches along with protecting the paint? Or do I invest in an actual polish like the one in this video and hit the entire SUV after the compound step? Or can I simply wax it with Angel eyes and be done? Thank you in advance.

I can almost guarantee no beginner is thinking ‘how much clear coat am I taking off?’
@eppyz4 жыл бұрын
But they should that's the thing. People don't understand you don't remove the swirls or scratch your removing clear.... You want to keep as much factory clear as possible and don't chase perfection in a daily driver... Live with some imperfections and keep your factory clear as long as possible.
@dallaspaintcorrectionautod83434 жыл бұрын
most beginners would fear damaging the paint or burning the paint. That's removing too much clear coat so I have no idea what you're talking about
@eppyz4 жыл бұрын
@@dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343 simple. It's stated even in the title of your KZfaq channel "Paint Correction". How does one "correct" paint? Simply by polishing to remove the defect? Or removing clear to the defects level? In that process of polishing or "correcting" the paint your removing clear. Are you telling me that isn't what polishing does? To maximize your clear coat you do not want to continuously chase imperfections at the sacrifice of your clear coat. Then think a coat of a ceramic coating can take the place of it. Not saying that's what your doing here but I've seen people do it. Including professional detailers.
@dallaspaintcorrectionautod83434 жыл бұрын
@@eppyz a ceramic coating can't makeup for clear coat removed from the car
@eppyz4 жыл бұрын
@@dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343 exactly my point. What is happening is people remove so much clear trying to chase every imperfection they know they are taking clear off and I'm sure some people don't know but people think that if they apply a ceramic coating it will be ok. I'm not sure if your getting my point. The point is... You know and I know scratches or swirls are the main reason people Polish their cars. The Polish doesn't remove the swirls or scratches your reducing or removing clear to the depth of the damage. If you do this constantly which some they eventually are wearing that clear down so much and there are people out there that think that is ok because they simply apply a ceramic coating afterwards. People don't realize the importance of the clear coat and should minimize polishing unless it's necessary to do so. Live with imperfections may actually help your paint last longer in some respects. I hope you understand my point. Anyway. Stay safe out there and appreciate your videos. 🙏
